So today feels like the perfect reminder that we get to bring colour into the world ourselves. A warm hello. A tidy space. Fresh flowers on the table. A ridiculous pair of socks. A good laugh. Tiny things count more than people realise.

I love Resmart! Being a tree hugger I do recycle, but these guys take your recycling other places don’t. AND they come to you!

✅ Soft plastics
✅ Bottle caps
✅ Medication blister packs
✅ Clothing
✅ Every thing else

There are a very few things they don’t take to recycle. If in doubt, take a pic and the app will confirm.

It’s not free, but a regular monthly will set you back $15, which is not a huge amount to pay for the 🌏.

One of my favourite ways to unwind is crocheting. It’s wonderfully calming to sit with some yarn while watching a show or listening to a podcast… stitch by stitch, worries quietly wander off.

I often collect unwanted yarn or pick up remnants of abandoned projects from op shops, then crochet (and sometimes knit) squares which I send to Squares for Comfort .

Wendy has built a beautiful little army of volunteers across Australia who create these squares. Another equally wonderful group joins them together into blankets, which are then donated to people doing it tough, including those experiencing homelessness, as well as charities such as Friends With Dignity and Ronald McDonald House Newcastle.

It’s a lovely win-win. I get to enjoy a relaxing creative hobby, and the finished pieces go on to provide warmth and comfort to someone who truly needs it 💛

If you happen to have any unwanted, forgotten or slightly unloved yarn sitting in a cupboard wondering what its purpose in life might be… I can absolutely help it fulfil its destiny. I’m always happy to give stray yarn a good home and turn it into something comforting for someone who needs it 🧶

I clean this office where one worker works on his own, pretty isolated. He’s usually chatty when he sees me, and then he leaves. Today his project board was cleared of the usual deadlines, notes and reminders. So I had to add my five cents to (hopefully) make him smile tomorrow morning!
