What should you do with wet carpet? Obviously getting everything dry as soon as possible is key. Here are some helpful tips.

ā€¢ If you have a moisture barrier pad (designed to keep spills from reaching the pad) it will need to be pulled back or removed in order to dry the subfloor.

ā€¢ Remove wood and metal furniture or place plastic wrap under legs to prevent permanent stains on the carpet.

ā€¢ Remove as much moisture as possible with a wet vac. Extracted carpet will dry 6x - 10x faster.

ā€¢ Large areas of wet padding should be removed. It is usually more cost effective to replace pad than to deal with prolonged drying.

ā€¢ Dehumidifier and fans are essential.
