We love finding local spots worth sharing! 🌲💚

We stopped in at Mango Mana for the first time and tried a large Golden Defense smoothie (DELICIOUS! 🤩) and a medium Dark Mana Bowl.

The staff made us feel welcome right away, and after chatting with the owner, Tony, it’s clear he cares about his team, the ingredients he uses, and bringing creative, healthy eats to our community.

Just wanted to give a shoutout from all of us at Sasquatch Eco Clean! We’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for a new local spot to try, give them a visit! 💚

At Sasquatch Eco Clean, we know emotions are running high regarding the upcoming Yelm Community Schools levy. We realize that taking a public stand might cost us some support in the Best of Nisqually competition, but our community’s future is simply too important to stay quiet. We quite literally cannot afford another levy failure.

The state has issued a stark warning: if the November 3 levy fails, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction will convene a Financial Oversight Committee. If this committee determines the district is no longer financially viable, they may recommend the complete dissolution of Yelm Community Schools.

Here is what dissolution actually means for our community:

• Our school district would be broken up, and students would be split into two or three neighboring districts.

• If operations are severely impacted, YCS might not even serve students past the 2027-28 school year.

• Most crucially, based on current data, property owners would likely pay higher tax rates after dissolution than the rate proposed in the November 3 levy.

Voting no won't save us money—it will cost us our district, displace our kids, and likely raise our taxes anyway. Let’s protect our students and our town.

Today’s the day! Every dollar of profit we make from jobs completed today or booked (deposits paid) for future service dates will be donated to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library 📚

We’ll post a recap over the weekend of just how much we’re able to donate. Thank you for helping us and Dolly’s Imagination Library inspire a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five 🤝

Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, have declared September 25 “Dolly Day” at their Nashville honky-tonk, with every dollar taken in at the bar that day going to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The date is a deliberate nod to Parton’s classic hit “9 to 5,” reading as 9/25 on the calendar. Brooks and Yearwood’s Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk will donate its entire income for the day to the cause behind the Imagination Library, the children’s literacy program Parton founded in 1995 that mails free books to children. The gesture follows Parton’s d*ath, after which her family had asked well-wishers to send donations to the Imagination Library rather than flowers.

Yearwood framed the fundraiser as a direct continuation of Parton’s own priorities. “Whatever the cash register says at the end of the day is going to Dolly’s passion,” she said. “This is 100% about Dolly and her love for children’s literacy.”

Brooks, for his part, described the tribute as more than a nod to Parton’s music career, calling it a recognition of her decades of generosity. “Dolly may be the perfect example of if you spend your whole life loving, you WILL live forever,” he said.

The Imagination Library currently operates in five countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom, and Parton had continued working to expand its reach up to her d*ath. Separately, Tennessee lawmaker Seal has proposed a bill designating September 25 as “9 to 5 Day” statewide in Parton’s home state, a measure aimed at formally honoring both her musical legacy and her charitable work.
