Cleaning the bathroom is a perennial chore that most of us would
rather not think about. However, it is an important task that
should not be ignored. When done regularly, it not only keeps the
bathroom looking and feeling clean, but also helps to reduce the
spread of bacteria and germs. This can be particularly important
for members of the household who may be more prone to infection.
The first step to cleaning the bathroom is to gather the necessary
supplies. These would generally include a multi-purpose cleaner, a
scouring pad or brush, a rag, a rubber or plastic sq**rt bottle, a
sponge, a bucket, and any other supplies specific to the
particular cleaning job.
The next step is to prepare the room. Close the toilet lid, open
all windows for ventilation, and shut off any water going to the
sink and toilet. This helps to prevent water spillage, and avoid
getting cleaning solution into the water supply. Remove all items
from the countertops and place them in a safe place.
Now it’s time to begin cleaning. Start off by spraying the cleaner
of your choice on to all surfaces, paying special attention to
areas that are difficult to reach like the showerhead, faucets,
and fixtures. Allow the cleaner to sit for several minutes to give
it time to break down the grime.
To disinfect the toilet, put on rubber gloves and sq**rt the
surface of the bowl, as well as around the rim of the toilet. Use
a toilet brush to scrub, making sure to reach all crevices, before
flushing.
Scrub the sink and the countertops with the scouring pad, paying
particular attention to those hard-to-reach places. If the
countertop is made of granite or marble, use the plastic sq**rt
bottle and a soft rag to protect the surface.
Clean the shower using a sponge and the cleaner of your choice.
For a more thorough clean, you can use a scouring pad. To get into
tight places, use a brush or an old toothbrush.
Finally, sweep and mop the bathroom floor. Make sure to move all
furniture to clean under and behind it for a thorough job.
Cleaning the bathroom may not be the most glamorous job, but it is
one of the most important. By doing it regularly and following the
steps outlined above, you can rest easy knowing your bathroom is
both hygienic and sparkling clean.
