Who knows what’s going on with the weather forecasts lately, but we have firewood available, we can scrape snow & ice from your driveway (business or residential), we can pull you out of a ditch when you realize you don’t have supplies for a milk sandwich, and we can take care of those trees & limbs, that you’ve been ignoring since Helene, when they finally break from the 3 inches of ice that Chris is calling for. Y’all stay warm and safe out there.

⚠️ High-Impact Winter Storm Increasingly Likely Fri–Sun

Confidence continues to rise in a long-duration and high impact winter storm affecting the western Carolinas, potentially beginning Friday night and worsening through Saturday.

My primary concern is ice. For nearly 10 consecutive model runs, both the Euro and GFS have shown a significant ice signal stretching from TX/OK into the Carolinas. Some solutions advertise extreme ice amounts, 1”+ ice — for perspective, ½ inch of ice can add ~500 lbs to power lines.

Will it verify exactly as shown? No.
But at 3½–4 days out, this looks less like if we see a winter storm and more like what kind.

Snow is also a concern — especially in the mountains, where models suggest high-impact accumulations. In most solutions a foot of snow is the low end. 

This is the window to review weekend travel plans and prepare for potential power outages, while we continue to refine details. I’ll be very clear as this trends stronger or weaker.

We don’t just do tree work! We are fully equipped for land clearing and grading!

This job started after Helene, initially as a clean up job, removing fallen trees from the customer’s home. The customer has since asked us to fully clear the property, which we finished up last week, and opened up some amazing lake views.
