HANTAVIRUS vs HISTOPLASMOSIS
Both mice, rats and bats droppings are similar and can be dangerous to mammals.
Mice and rat droppings can transfer " Hantavirus " to humans and pets. Hantavirus is
a virus that can cause serious illness and in some cases death. It's spread by contact with rodent droppings, urine, saliva, and nesting materials.
Bat droppings can transfer " Histoplasmosis ". This virus can also be transferred to humans and pets.
Both viruses are serious respiratory diseases that can be caused by inhaling microscopic spores from dried droppings and urine contact.
To prevent infection from mouse or bat droppings, you can:
-Avoid exposure to rodents and their droppings.
-Wear PPE when cleaning up after rodents.
-Contact a professional pest control company to keep your environment free of mice and bats active.
-If you start to experience flu-like symptoms after being around mice, rat or bat f***s, contact a healthcare provider immediately
If you find an injured or sick bat, contact your local animal control service.
