🍁 Fall is Here – Time for a Septic Check-Up! 🛠️💧

Before the ground freezes and winter sets in, don’t forget to give your septic system a little love! A quick fall maintenance check can save you from messy (and costly) surprises later.

Here’s a simple checklist to keep things flowing smoothly:

✅ Inspect tank for sludge and signs of damage
✅ Pump if it’s 1/3 full of solids
✅ Clean effluent filter & check baffles
✅ Walk the drainfield – look for soggy spots or odors
✅ Test float switch, pump & alarm (if you have them)
✅ Add mulch over the tank/drainfield to prevent freezing
✅ Direct rainwater away from the system
✅ Fix leaks & reduce water use where you can
✅ Keep records of all maintenance

A little effort now = a lot of peace of mind this winter! ❄️
