Welcome back!
Mom's update:
Sorry for our lack of presence. It's been quite a year.
Last season Caleb and crew cleaned 54 stones and two large memorial benches between May 7 and September 6. Though it was only about half as many as the previous summer, that was a much more sustainable amount for Caleb and for our family :)
While we never like to hear of the need for it, we have been able to gift 6 families who have lost babies the miscarriage boxes that Caleb funds with some of his earnings. Our hearts break each and every time, but we are thankful we are able to help in this small, tangible way.
Last summer Caleb was asked to clean a large family plot in Forest Hill Cemetery, which consisted of 20+ stones and a bench. It was a two-month job amidst other ones he took on, but it turned out great and it gave us an opportunity to learn some more local history, this time about he Hill family
The other stones cleaned were in the other Wisconsin Rapids cemeteries, Nekoosa, Seneca Corners, Port Edwards and quite a few in Pittsville. Caleb brought on additional help of friends and siblings last season. I couldn't help as much as the previous summer as I learned I was expecting a baby the first week of headstone season and it wasn't long before I was out for the count during a tumultuous first trimester.
We ended the season with a large job in Pittsville with friends and siblings and some Cranberry Creamery ice cream!
This off season has been full of homeschooling, fun, friends and welcoming our sweet Avila Rose in January. She's Caleb's math buddy and he is the baby whisperer when she needs a nap. She's the sweetest and will surely enjoy walks in the stroller while her big siblings are cleaning stones this summer.
Now that the weather is finally looking up and our schedule is slowing down a tiny bit, Caleb is happy to announce that he will again offer his services.
He can get a small job or two in before Memorial Day, otherwise he has time in June, July and August to take on work.
Whether you're a repeat customer or a new one, we would be happy to set up a cleaning for you! Thank you for your continued support. This business endeavor has been such a great learning and service opportunity for our kids. They really enjoy the challenge!
