🎮Artcade Announcement —The End of an Era🎨

It’s hard to find the words for this one...

Since 2018, Artcade has been more than a business — it’s been a living room for the community - a safe space for all. A place for nostalgia, laughter, friendly competition and killer first dates.

But the real heartbeat of the place was our four-legged “doorbell,” baby dog Ozma, who let everyone know when someone walked in and then promptly went over to get her pets.

At the end of October, my beloved Ozma passed away.

She was getting so tired but she still managed to make Artcade hers in every way — barking from her posts, wandering the back parking lot, moseying to the front door and back again, always keeping an eye on things (and waiting for her cookies 🍪). She was loved by everyone who came through door and often times took up a majority of patrons hour of playtime .😆 She’ll always be part of what made this place feel so great to be at and what people think about if Artcade comes up in conversation..

We also lost someone who meant a very great deal to us this past Saturday, our bestie, Sam Witts. ('SAM' standing grand champion scores on most of the machines!) Our pinball tech/guru, dear friend and Ozma scratcher, and one of the “Core Four” founding members of the Winter Haven Pinball League. Sam did so much for myself and the Arcade over the years, keeping games running, helping players improve their skillsets, directing tournaments and sharing in the energy that made this place really fun and functional.
Sam really cared about us all and it showed big time.

With both of them gone, it truly feels like the end of an era.

That said, we’re hoping to sell the Artcade so it can continue on for the people who’ve made it what it is today, a relaxing, safe space for everyone to enjoy. If it doesn’t sell, we’ll have to close our immediate doors — but we’re holding on to hope that someone will want to carry the torch and keep it open for the community that’s kept it thriving for so long! 💕🤞
