Good morning Winston-Salem!

If you hadn't noticed by now, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities is currently repairing a substantial water-main break that may cause customers throughout Forsyth County to experience no water, low pressure or fluctuating pressure.

During the outage, you may notice:
🚿 sputtering faucets
🫧 air in the lines
🪠 discolored water
🚽 toilets that will not refill
💦 or temporary errors from water-using appliances

These symptoms do not necessarily mean there is a plumbing problem inside your home!

Try to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers and ice makers until water service is restored. Once the water returns, begin by slowly running cold water from a bathtub faucet or outside spigot until the air clears and the water runs normally. Avoid washing light-colored laundry until the water is completely clear.

🙏 Please be patient with the City of Winston utility team as they work to get this issue resolved! Please be patient with your local plumbing and rent-a-jon providers as we work to assist everyone as quickly as we can in the meantime 💙💛
