Now is the time to check your property for ANY standing water. I have seen so many wheelbarrows full because of all the rain and boats of all sizes, so many tires and 5 gallon buckets, kids pools out in the treelines and behind sheds right side up and upside down. Mosquitoes will lay eggs in all sorts of places where there is standing water. Also try the products from Mosquito Dunks and Mosquito Bits for ditches, ponds and small pools of water. In the video you will see mosquito larvae swimming up to get a breath and then swimming back down. Mosquito Dunks and Bits create a skim coating on the surface they can’t break. And they do not harm anything but the mosquito larvae.

About the only thing we’re not getting here. Maybe the weather will change soon so we can get out and get doing some treatments.

It’s black fly season folks. Get yourself a mosquito net to put over your head for the next few weeks, it will help you get through the aggravation.

We are getting calls and texts every day asking when we are planning on coming out to treat customers properties, we are strictly regulated by State and Federal laws regarding wind and precipitation. We cannot treat legally by law when the winds are too strong or during precipitation events. I hope this explains why we have not been around to apply your treatments. If you find someone or see someone from another company who is out actively doing treatments please call the state of Maine Board of Pesticides and report them immediately as that proves they do not care about our local environment including our waterways. Thank you for your understanding and please know we will get out for treatments when it is LEGAL for us to do so.

I know a lot of you are finding ticks already due to the warmer temperatures. Although ticks are out year round whenever the temperatures are above 32 degrees, we have to wait until the overnight temperatures are above freezing due to our equipment that would freeze up and then possibly be damaged. We typically start the first or second week of April. I hope this helps explain our situation.
