Tomorrow, Sunday the 29th I will be doing pesticide rounds in the neighborhood.
Please ensure anything abutting your property such as hoses, planters, toys, furniture etc. are not in the way of your foundation for a cleaner application. 😊

Lawn care begins in earnest Monday. If your property is not yet ready and out of dormancy, you will be skipped this week and no invoice will be sent. This is an awkward time of year as properties can be sorta-kinda there but not quite - in which case a discounted rate will be applied if there’s only patchy growth that needs to be addressed.

And just like that, soil temperatures have dipped below 47 degrees, which is close to the ~45 degrees necessary for cool season grasses to enter dormancy. While I usually mow up until the week before Thanksgiving, this year got cooler a little faster than usual. As a result, this week will be the last week of consistent mowing until springtime. Its a good time to pack in hoses, check exterior spigots for leaks and turn them off for the season, clean up the leaf debris until leaf fall stops, ensure downspout drainage is unimpeeded and remove furniture seat cusions or anything that can be taken by windy weather.

Other services such as pruning, pesticide and shrubwork will continue until Thanksgiving.

I’ve gotten a few questions about the fall and how things progress.

I will be servicing properties until November, usually until the week before thanksgiving to clean up leaf debris and ensure the grass is cut at the proper height to prepare for winter snowfall.

Past November I typically continue service on a monthly basis to ensure leaf debris, trash, sticks etc. are cleaned up. If you live on a treeline this may be something to consider to ensure that your property remains clean.

I do also offer mild snow removal services for driveways, sidewalks and walkways, no big truck mounted plows as to avoid damage to properties. Those require too much of a significant investment on my end and my policy doesn’t support it at this time. If you are interested in service please do let me know so I can prepare before snowfall events.
