People think owning your own cleaning business means freedom and flexibility.

What they don’t see is me sitting on my couch at 10 PM answering messages after spending 8 hours scrubbing somebody else’s house.

They don’t see the scheduling, invoicing, restocking supplies, marketing, content creation, cancellations, finances, and constant mental load that comes with running a business completely alone.

And then after all of that… we still have to physically clean all day long.

By the time we get home, our bodies hurt. Our feet hurt. Our backs hurt. Our brains are exhausted. But the day still isn’t over.

We still have our own homes to take care of, and honestly, sometimes they get the bare minimum because we are just too dang tired.

We still have to cook dinner. Help with homework. Give baths. Do laundry. Be moms. Be wives. Be present for everyone else while running on empty ourselves.

People see the finished clean. They see the satisfying videos. They see the business name.

They don’t see the woman behind it carrying the workload of five people while trying to hold her family and life together too.

Running a cleaning business is one of the most physically and mentally demanding jobs I’ve ever experienced. And I know so many other cleaners silently carrying the same weight every single day. 🤍
