Ferney CommonGround Come visit! Ferney CommonGround is a micro berry farm and community destination located atop the Blue Ridge Plateau in Floyd, Virginia.

Ferney CommonGround is a community destination that provides visitors a unique agritourism experience with natural playgrounds & gardens, seasonal pick-your-own berries, and a casual space for people of all ages to gather & unwind. Come for the berries, run wild in the gardens, and stay into the golden hour among the flowers. Berry Prices (Cash or Square)
Blueberries, Pick Your Own: $4.50/pound

*Berry picking is winding down early this year, those who are interested in the simple joy of picking berries will be best suited to our small berry farm. While we are expanding, with only 90 blueberry bushes, we are not the best picking location for large berry hauls. CommonGround Admission:
$10 per person
$5 for Floyd county residents
$3 EBT/Snap cardholders

CommonGround's playgardens encourage exploration and immersive hands-on learning for visitors of all ages. They are intended for self-led family/group experiences. Accompanying adults are solely responsible for their children and must be present at all times. Staff will be available occasionally to provide special programming activities, or to assist with visitor questions. All the play materials are intended to be touched and manipulated. Please bring towels and be prepared for your child to get dirty. Before you leave, visit our hand-washing station to prevent taking too much mud home with you! Visitors are *encouraged* to pick flowers, fruits, and vegetables. To maintain the beauty of our gardens and natural habitat, please be gentle with any bugs, animals, or plants found on the property.

I am so excited to finally announce!
Ferney CommonGround is open starting this Wednesday 6/29, for family-friendly pick-your-own blueberries in Willis. We offer a lot more than blueberries! After you’ve picked berries stay and relax in our natural playgardens.

*Things are still a work in progress as I’ll be fighting weeds until my last breath* But I’m so excited to share that CommonGround offers a 20’ hillside slide and climbing wall, slingshot battleground, risky creek – a muddy bog & wildlife habitat with a slackline crossing, mud kitchens and water pump, giant chessboard, winding garden paths, giant Jenga, life-size sundial, music and chalkboard-art area, shaded sandpit, concessions and patio at the market.

All of this is found within a fenced area to ensure children run wild but not away!

Berry Picking Rules
1. Check-in at the market before berrypicking for a container and directions.
2. No dogs - no exceptions.
3. Leave the green berries. You won’t want to eat them and they will not ripen off the bush.
Berry Picking Recommendations
1. Bring a cooler to store berries on you way home.
2. Do not wash berries until you want to eat them. We do not apply sprays of any kind - often the frozen berries I use in smoothies go right in with all their natural glory. 😉

General Rules
1. Drive slowly with windows down to ensure errant toddlers and barn cats are away from your vehicle.
2. All children must be watched by an accompanying adult at all times.
3. No throwing sand or rocks.
4. Please help me keep the sand toys in the sand pit.
5. No dogs - no exceptions.

General Recommendations
1. Bring a towel to clean dirt and mud before you leave.
2. Bring a blanket to sit on and an umbrella for shade during midday sun, our new trees are working hard to return open pasture to woods. ❤️

I had imagined this lovely thing flowering in my garden, instead because of the weather in Floyd County, she flowers for me. 💛🧡
