We're happy to announce that we are branching out to open Private Stock Tallow, a new premium soap company. Tallow is a fat that has a composition roughly mirroring human sebum, our skin's natural oils. It creates a luxuriant lather in soap with robust but gentle cleansing qualities that can be used on faces and the entire body.
Tallow is a secondary byproduct of beef farming that too often becomes a waste product. Since Celie's Garden is committed to crafting beautiful, clean, plant-based soaps that don't use any animal products in which the animal is harmed, tallow soap falls outside its brand. Yet, we see great value in reclaiming tallow from becoming a waste product and using it to create even more beautiful, clean soap, free of artificial colors, fragrances, preservatives, and plastics. For that reason, we have opened Private Stock Tallow as a separate business.
Our initial plan is to use one base recipe of tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, and castor oil. Celie will use her olfactory gifts to create several essential oil blends for great smelling soaps. You can message us to preorder, or visit us at 2nd Sundays at the Celie's Garden booth.
