My family doesn’t eat zucchini…or so they think. I honestly love all food, but I am in a family of picky eaters.
Although I do grow zucchini and squash to a size where they are more tender and sweet, I never mind it when I miss one and crazy growth happens. Watch this transform into edible and tasty farm to table goodness!

I will likely also get some seeds to save for next years garden. Woo hoo!

It’s time to have a great day. Today is my second born’s birthday. The big 13 today! I couldn’t be more proud to be her mom. She’s enjoying a day visiting the arc in Kentucky. Her and I will get to celebrate when she gets back. As a matter of fact my three bigs and I will celebrate all their birthdays when they get back. My son and I didn’t get to see much of one another on his birthday and my eldest daughter’s birthday is coming up and she will be in TN ringing in her big day so they will get cake twice and celebration twice. I remember growing up and my parents split up when I was little. That was always the big seller to us kids, 2 Christmas celebrations, 2 birthday celebrations, 2 of everything. We had to look at the good in the situation and to most kids and extra birthday present was always a bonus so I’ll take that mindset and they will get 2 celebrations this year. I’m sure they won’t mind a bit.

In the meantime while they are away I’ve got serious work to do. I’m going to start hauling some of these wood chips to the garden, the pigs, and the poultry.

I’ve already mowed half the lawn today. Why only half? Dumb electric mowers. I’m pro gas ⛽️ powered lawn equipment. lol.

Tomorrow is the big day at Rich Earth Farm for the Friday market 3-7.

We will have NO eggs. We will have Meishan pork. We’re very low on stock once again, but we have taken a small batch and should be getting that back by next weeks markets. We will have some various herbs, baked goods (sweet & savory), our farm to table syrups.

We can’t wait to see you there! Wish me luck on not getting buried in this wood chip pile.

Meishan pork, sold out of free range eggs, farm to table syrups for your lemonade, tea, coffee, ice cream, cocktails/mocktails, or pancakes. We’ve got a new flavor today to sample that will be bottled up for Friday’s market. Seasonal goodness grown better than organic on the farm.

We are sold out of eggs for the week. All eggs. We’ve got 3 large pre-orders that will take our priority in filling so NO eggs will be brought to markets and I cannot take anymore orders until these are filled.
Remember, we only sell FRESH eggs so we will start again next week with the eggs.

Also, almost sold out is plain ground Meishan pork. Once it’s sold out we won’t have any back in stock for about a month.

“The storm provides!” If you’ve got kids that are younger you might know that line. Today that held true for our farm.

I had been actively looking for a chip drop and today on the way to the new property on our road the storm knocked down some trees and just like that we’ve got a chip drop! I’m so excited. I saw them right near the house and of course asked them to drop it off on our property. We use the chips for everything!

Wood chips are a natural bedding for our poultry, especially the quail. They are great for if the pigs muddy up an area we can add chips to the area. Great for our soil around our fruit and nut bearing trees and in the garden. Wood chips help the farm in numerous ways. I’m not worried about these being spayed with anything, but some I would worry about. When we would get chip drops in AZ the main concern was oleander. Very common plant there and we did have issues with it.

EXCITED!!!!!
