The DEQ is sending out letters to owners that do not have a Maintenance provider for these septic systems. If you are listing your property for sale, unless you need a repair before listing it, you should wait on pumping your septic tank. This customer had his tank pumped 2 months ago even though the house was listed already, and had to have it dug out and pumped again to be inspected. We don't like seeing people spend money when they don't need to. (side note, we were not who pumped it 2 months ago, because we would have told them to wait.) You can always call and talk to us if you have questions.

This is why you don't want to neglect your septic system. A lot of times, roots like this would be a tank replacement, but we were able to get it removed and save the tank.

Septics should be pumped every 3-5 years. Neglecting them can make your drain field fail prematurely. A lot of systems get neglected during the winter. How is yours?
