❤️ Thank You, Wetumpka ❤️
Well… we never thought we’d be writing this.
Holley’s Classic Car Wash has officially closed its doors.
This was a really hard one, and honestly, not the way we ever pictured things going. Holley’s has been a fixture in Wetumpka for years, and even though we’ve only had the keys for a short while, this place and this community worked their way into our hearts fast. Saying goodbye to something woven into so many people’s routines and memories is just hard.
The truth is, this wasn’t so much a choice as the result of a few things that lined up against us, none of which we could do much about. When ALDOT began reworking the roads nearby, getting in and out of our lot became a real challenge, and a steady stream of regulars slowly thinned out through no fault of their own. Add in a changing local landscape with more options around town than ever, and staying open simply stopped being possible no matter how hard we pushed. And believe us, we pushed. We held on as long as we could before the math finally made the call for us.
We also want to take a moment to honor where this all began. The Holley family built this car wash and everything their name came to stand for in this town. When they sold it to us in 2023, we were proud to carry that name forward and to do our very best to live up to it. What’s happened since…the road changes, the shifting market, the hard ending…all of that fell to us as the current owners, long after the Holleys had moved on. We hope folks remember their family for the legacy they built here, not for a final chapter they had no hand in writing.
To every person who pulled in for a wash, joined our Wash Club, left a kind review, told a friend, or just kept choosing us… thank you. We noticed it, we appreciated it, and it meant more than you probably know.
To our employees, past and present…thank you. You were the true heart of this place. You showed up every day, worked hard, and took care of our customers with pride. We’ll miss you just as much as we’ll miss the folks who pulled onto our lot.
When we called this “Your Hometown Car Wash,” we meant it. It was never just a slogan, it was what we hoped people felt every time they drove in.
We’re going to miss the familiar faces, the quick conversations, and being a small part of this community.
Thank you, Wetumpka… truly. ❤️
