Those small holes you're looking at are rodent burrows, found by our tech Tom inside a home in Westwood. ๐Ÿ€

Rodents aren't just looking for food. They're looking for a warm, soft place to nest. Your insulation checks every box. It's hidden, undisturbed and feels a lot like the natural materials they'd build a nest with in the wild. Once they find it they settle in and start a family.

The good news? It's catchable early if you know what to look for.

Spring Cleanup Reminder ๐ŸŒฟ
As the weather warms up, many of us are heading into garages, sheds, basements and storage spaces that have been closed all winter. These are exactly the kinds of spaces where mice like to nest over the cold months and it's worth taking a few simple precautions before you go in.

One reason why: hantavirus, while rare, is a serious respiratory illness spread through contact with infected rodent droppings and nesting materials. Most people have never encountered it and a few simple steps keep it that way.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Ventilate the space before entering. Open a door or window and let the air out

๐Ÿ‘‰ Wear gloves and a mask

๐Ÿ‘‰ Avoid stirring up dust and debris where you've seen rodent activity

Stay safe out there this spring. ๐ŸŒฟ

It's a global problem that hits close to home. Once rodents get inside, they contaminate food, chew through walls, and reproduce fast.

If you're seeing signs of rodent activity, don't ignore it. Message us or give us a call. And let's take back our food supply from the rodents!

This is what termite damage actually looks like behind your walls. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

A homeowner in Fair Lawn, NJ called us about termite swarmers and when our technician Tom removed the drop ceiling in the basement, this is what was waiting.

The swarmers were the warning sign. This hidden termite damage was the reality.

If youโ€™re seeing swarmers in your home, donโ€™t wait. The damage may already be happening.

Did you know that dark, greasy staining around a hole or gap in your home's exterior is one of the clearest signs of an active mouse entry point? ๐Ÿญ

That residue is called sebum, an oily substance produced by mice that stains surfaces along every path they travel. The darker the stain, the more trafficked the entry point.

Tech Tom spotted this one on a recent inspection. What looked like a dirty wall was actually a well-worn mouse highway going straight into the home.

Think mice might be getting in? The entry point might be hiding in plain sight. Call Twin Boro for an inspection.

Swarmers inside your home aren't just a nuisance. Theyโ€™re a warning. ๐Ÿšจ

When this Oradell, NJ customer started seeing swarmers on their main floor, they called Twin Boro. Technician Tom didn't just treat the surface. He went to the basement and found active termites tunneling directly into the sill plates.

Not sure what a sill plate is? It's the piece of wood that sits right on top of your foundation, essentially the first wood termites reach when they come up from the soil. It's one of the most common and most critical spots for termite damage, and one of the first places a trained tech checks.

Swarmers are the winged reproductive termites that fly out when a colony is ready to expand. Seeing them inside your home means there's already an established colony nearby doing damage you can't see. The sill plate is often ground zero.

๐Ÿ“ž Seeing swarmers? Don't wait. Call Twin Boro before the damage goes deeper.

Termites never sleep. They eat through your home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By the time most homeowners notice the damage, they've often been at it for months.

The best defense is catching them early. Signs to watch for: soft spots in wood, bubbling paint, or small mud tubes along your foundation.

We're offering free termite inspections for neighbors in the area. Message us here or give us a call. We'll come take a look before the problem grows.
