I was able to visit the beautiful conservation trail in Amherst this weekend and was happy to remove a bag of trash off the trail and parking area. If you haven’t visited I strongly recommend going for a peaceful walk and even do some fishing by the pond! Thank you for conserving such a beautiful part of nature!

Part two of my Westfield High School cleanup was even more successful than the first. A total of 3 more trash bags taken out putting a major dent in the litter count! My next cleanups will be again at the cinemark parking lot and Sadie Knox Playground so stay tuned for those upcoming!!

Yesterday afternoon I had went to the Westfield High School to view how the fields were looking, and saw a lot of trash so I had to collect some. Majority of this has been built up trash pushed by wind towards the fence, and I hope that once I remove a good chunk it will remain clean. (I also included a picture from a previous clean on the Westfield river last week but forgot to post).

A little post rain cleanup at the west Springfield on 6/22! I come here very often and seeing the trash is always disappointing so I decided to take some time to clean up a little. These 2 bags were filled from a small section of the back parking lot, “E3”. I will be coming back within the next few days to cleanup more and hope that it stays that way! (Also RIP grabber #2, you will be missed 🪦)

Although I don’t usually clean up besides roads, after seeing this while driving by to go fishing yesterday I knew I had to come back. A total of 3 smaller and 1 giant trash bags removed from the grass on this street corner behind the pride gas station by donut dip. I hope it will remain cleaner but people care less when they’re driving, I fear it may circle back to how it was. Please be mindful and remember that trash doesn’t just disappear, someone has to go out there and clean it up! (Also RIP to my first trash grabber, you will be missed 😭)

Quick cleanup Wednesday night as I walked further down the Westfield river from the green bridges to Degray’s alongside the Westfield River Walk. The trail was fairly clean and may need 1 more visit to clean it all but I was happy to be able to fill a full bag and make more progress on this project. I also want to give a big thank you to New Corner Variety for allowing me to toss bags of litter in their dumpster as needed!😁

Quick and quiet trip again today focusing on cleaning more of our Westfield river! I’ve been noticing trash starting to show face more which means people are continuing to litter. Please remember that the trash you leave behind is terrible for the environment and others trying to enjoy nature! I will be back again soon to do another cleaning by the water itself where hopefully it will be difficult to fill an entire bag.

What a mess to clean up this early afternoon! I was out by Arm Brook Reservoir in Westfield from 12-5 today after I saw how much trash was here earlier this week. Today was my most successful day as we ended the trip with 8 bags of trash as well as a broken garbage bin filled with old tarps. A lot of people have been coming here clearly and it seems to have never been cleaned up… until now! There are a few before and after pictures included here for you to enjoy and I hope it will remain as clean as it is now. Unfortunately I was not able to remove 2 tarps, and I also left the bin with tarps by the entrance in hopes that it can be thrown out by the City of Westfield as it would not fit in my car. Thank you to everyone who likes, shares, and supports me in this summer project! 😄

Following yesterdays walk, I want to give a big thank you to for joining me on today’s cleanup! We walked from the stop and shop entrance to just shy of shaker farms country club. Ended off the stroll with 2 solid bags of trash and great conversation! Thank you again Michael!

Perfect late spring day and a lot of trash cleaned up alongside the Columbia Greenway Rail Trail. I have officially cleaned up my largest piece of trash… a shopping cart! Left nearby the green bridges I brought it back to stop and shop where they also provided me with a new trash bag to clean more on the way back. I will be back again soon to clean from stop and shop to Shaker Farms! This brings our total bags of litter tossed to 15! 😄
