A message from Wayne Weingartner – a.k.a “Sonny”
It’s Time To Say Goodbye
After 43 years at Sonny’s Cleaners the time has come to say good-bye. I started here as an 18 year old kid and leave as a 61 year old man. In that time I went from worker to manager and then owner. Many of you I would like to thank individually, especially my loyal and long time customers. You know who you are and have my heartfelt thanks. To those customers who have used our services a short time your patronage was greatly appreciated. I have the pleasure of knowing the people who live in the neighborhood, work in the area or come from one of the many local senior housing communities.
My immediate short term future will be assisting in the rehabilitation of my son as he recovers from a massive stroke. He is currently partially paralyzed and unable to verbally communicate without difficulty. His future also includes open heart surgery in the fall. I also hope to spend more time with my 95 year old mother who is battling Alzheimer’s in a local nursing home. I hope to enjoy some time with my family and will be looking to do some volunteer work. Part time work will be in my longer range plans – retirement is not in my vocabulary.
I am leaving you in the good hands of Mr. H. Hoffman of Garden City who has decades of experience in the dry cleaning industry. I ask that you give him your full support.
I wish you all good health and happiness and know that you will always be in my thoughts. God Bless.
Thank you!
Wayne (a.k.a Sonny)
