This was a big one !!! 85 lineal feet of rodent / Rat wall around a very large deck .

This involved moving lots of stone and mulch to get at the soil , trenching the perimeter 18ins down and roughly 10-12 inches away from the structure, a lot of cutting in to secure major areas of concern and the putting everything back and making it as if I wasn’t even there .

A lot of hours for 1 person but it’s so rewarding to see the smiles and look of relief once the job is complete !!!

April Showers Brings May Flowers !!

The season is upon us!!!!! As the temperatures are warming up , these pesky little critters are waking up. Carpenter bees have emerged and started damaging the wood on structures , paper wasps will start building their nests , yellow jackets will start to recolonize after a long winter slumber !!!

European And Baldfaces hornets will start showing their faces .

When you get rained out but still have a job to finish up ….. A Half day on a Sunday sometimes is required.

Garages are tricky , there are tons of factors involved when trying to exclude.

This customer is going to reside this garage so we needed to secure the wood and seal the holes so that when they side it there is no underlining issue after the construction .

This job gave tons of surprises lol . Things people back fill with is mind boggling 😂.

Another rodent wall / wildlife exclusion in the books and my customer is beyond happy !!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!! I hope everyone had a Happy, Safe and pest free Holiday season !!

Now that January is just about over and The temperatures dropping below freezing , the Snow is fall , you and your family have nestle in , some around a nice fire .
That sounds so nice .

Unfortunately, other animals like rodents are also looking to places to nestle in , and stay warm . Rodents such as mice leave us signs that they are here . Some may see dropping , where others may hear scratching noises .

Rodents are uniquely different in their behavioral patterns, between each species , from how they travel and nest , to how they communicate . I’m not going to bore everyone on the specifics, however as someone with vast experience in multiple areas of construction and a 20yr background in pest and wildlife control, I can tell you that rodents will find a possible point of entry if there is one .
Rodents such as mice and rats are mostly blind as they can not see past 30in in front of their faces and are color blind . That makes them highly in tune with there other senses.

Rats can fit through an opening the size of a quarter , and mice the size of a dime . This make it difficult to find these areas

As the Leaves change and begin to fall off trees, many things start to happen.
I’d like to shed light on a false conception of the seasons pertaining to pests and their activity .

Many believe that bugs or pests die off when it gets cold . This is far from true , insects like stink bugs , spiders , ants and many others hibernate , or overwinter . Usually under siding and in cracks and crevices of structures .

Have you ever seen a stink bug in January when you kicked your heat up to 75 or 80?
This is because as adults they hibernate .

Allowing a professional to inspect in fall prior to winter, will aide in identifying areas that you might have not seen, that may pose a potential concern.

Sealing up cracks and crevices such as pipe chases , window, and door frames that the caulk has deteriorated or loose motar where rodent could potential enter .

Putting bait out or traps for wildlife and rodents is always a last resort. During my time as a wildlife life control operator with the DEC , I was taught many ways to exclude wildlife so that the wildlife could live , just not at your home lol .

This is an example of a way you can permanently keep wildlife and rodents out from under any structure.

There were lots of complaints about groundhogs and skunks this year … This Rodent/ Rat wall will guarantee that they do not nest .
