It didn’t take long to spot one of the issues here. 👀

The wear and wrinkles on this second step caught my attention as soon as I walked up to the pool. A quick dye test confirmed the damaged areas were leaking.

Unfortunately, once a liner starts deteriorating like this, it’s usually getting close to the end of its serviceable life.

The good news? We can still seal these areas up and help get you through the rest of the season buying some time before the liner ultimately needs to be replaced.

Yes… ants can actually destroy a pool liner.

This liner had severe ant damage, a bunch of small holes have turned is much bigger problem. This pool was losing over 6” per day.

We were able to get everything patched up and stop the water loss for now, which should get the homeowner through the rest of the season. Unfortunately, with this much damage, a new liner will ultimately be needed.

Sometimes you have to look where no one else can.

This pool was losing water, but the leak wasn’t visible from any normal angle.

The only way to confirm it was by using a mirror to look into an area that couldn’t be seen directly.

That’s what leak detection is all about. It’s not guessing it’s taking the time to inspect every possible source until the real problem is found.

In the end, the leak was hiding inside the skimmer where it would have been easy to miss.

Most pool leaks aren’t where homeowners expect them to be.

This leak was hidden around the pool light and could only be confirmed underwater using dye testing.

Finding the actual source of the water loss is what matters.

This pool was losing water, but the entire deck was covered in outdoor carpet, making traditional acoustic leak detection much harder.

Fortunately, we have several different methods to locate an underground leak. we were able to hear the leak, pinpoint the damaged pipe, and mark the exact excavation location.

Every pool is different. That’s why experience matters just as much as the equipment.

A pressure test can provide valuable information but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

In this case, the underground return line held pressure perfectly but using other testing methods it indicated the line was leaking. Instead of stopping there, we continued the investigation and found the actual leak just inside the return fitting.

This is why we don’t make repair recommendations based on a single test. Every pool is different, and the right answer comes from evaluating all of the evidence.

Every test provides a clue. The diagnosis comes from putting those clues together.
