I want to take a moment to address some of the things that have recently been shared regarding Tidy Tribe.
First and foremost, I take my business, my reputation, and the trust my clients place in me very seriously. Tidy Tribe is something I have worked extremely hard to build, and running a business has been one of the biggest learning experiences of my life.
As my business grew, I made the decision to hire employees so that I could take on more clients. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that when my name is attached to a business, I am ultimately responsible for the quality of every job completed under that name — whether I personally performed the work or not.
The majority of the complaints I have received came during the period when I was sending employees to jobs without me being personally present. Once it became clear that the quality and reliability of some of my team members were not meeting the standards I expect for Tidy Tribe, I made the difficult decision to let my team go.
Since then, I have completely changed the way I operate my business. I am personally present for my cleanings. I currently have one person who works alongside me, and I do not send her to complete jobs alone. I want to personally see the work being done and make sure that the service my clients receive reflects the standard I expect my name and business to represent.
I also want to make it clear that I have never expected anyone to simply overlook a bad experience. When issues from previous jobs have been brought to my attention, I have continuously tried to address them and make things right to the best of my ability. I cannot go back and change what happened, but I CAN learn from it, take responsibility for my business, and make changes so those same mistakes are not repeated.
I am not posting this to argue with anyone, discredit anyone’s experience, or pretend that mistakes have never happened. They have. I am posting this because I believe there is a difference between a business owner who ignores problems and one who recognizes them, makes changes, and genuinely works to do better.
I am incredibly grateful for the clients who have continued to trust me, recommend me, support my business, and allow me into their homes. I have many wonderful clients who can speak firsthand about my work ethic, the quality of my personal work, and the care I put into their homes. Their continued support means more to me than they know.
Owning a small business means learning some lessons the hard way. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that I would rather keep my business smaller and personally oversee every cleaning than grow faster at the expense of quality.
Going forward, that is exactly what I intend to do.
My name is behind Tidy Tribe, and I want my work to speak for it. I will continue showing up, working hard, correcting mistakes when they happen, and doing everything I can to provide the level of service my clients deserve.
To everyone who has supported Tidy Tribe, given me grace while I learned, referred me to friends and family, or continued to choose me to care for your home — thank you. 💚
I’m proud of how much I have learned, and I’m committed to making Tidy Tribe better because of it.
