Do you have an athlete or two in your house? Does their gear smell like, well, stink badly? You can try a sports detergent or laundry booster to help with the odor or try a natural remedy. Try adding a cup of white vinegar to cold water and let everything soak for 15 to 30 minutes before washing like normal. Throw a cup of baking soda right into the washer. The alkaline properties of baking soda will get rid of sweats' acidic odor. You can also use lemon. Just squeeze on into your washbasin to kill odor-causing bacteria. Skip the fabric softener as it leaves behind a coating that further traps bacteria and odors. And last but not least, always wash in COLD water. Hot water will only amplify the smell!

Have you ever wiped down any surfaces in your hotel room when you arrive? It's a good idea to start if you haven't already!

Clean obvious touchpoints such as remote controls, alarm clocks, and the landline phone, but there are other less obvious items that you should also wipe down. Consider the cabinet and drawer handles, doorknobs and locks, light switches, desk surfaces, and informational booklets and brochures. You can easily wipe these down with a 70% alcohol disinfecting wipe. The same thing goes for surfaces, faucets, and handles in the bathroom.

Wiping all of these items down and any other things that may catch your eye will help ensure your health and safety during your hotel stay!
