As you know, we had to cancel the Wells Christmas Parade on Sunday due to the weather … we were all disappointed, but for the sake of everyone’s safety, it was the right decision. We realize that people spent a lot of time and money constructing floats, making costumes, practicing, etc. To that end, it has been determined that we are going to have a “Reverse Parade” this coming Sunday, December 21 from 1:00-2:00pm at Wells Harbor Park, 331 Harbor Road.

I’m sure you’re wondering what a “reverse parade” is?? … basically, everyone that wants to be involved (floats, cars, music groups, animals, businesses, civic groups, etc.) line up around the road inside Wells Harbor Park and the individuals who want to see the “parade” drive their cars around and wave, collect candy or treats and enjoy the festivities. Reverse Christmas Parade at the Wells Harbor, Sunday December 21st 1-2pm! Thank you to everyone who supported the idea of doing something in place of the originally canceled parade, to everyone who will be participating and donating baked goods! And to our Towns leadership and chamber of commerce, who acted quickly to put together this event! You all are what makes our community a special place to live in. We look forward to seeing everyone Sunday!!

*Update we are working with the town and other local businesses to put on a smaller scale drive by / standstill parade, at the Wells Harbor, Sunday December 21st at 2pm. More details to follow soon as we have them!

We are very disappointed that the Christmas parade is cancelled, we put a lot of work into our float and we know others did too. We have an idea though! We are looking for others who have built floats for the Christmas Parade, to come park them at the Wells Harbor, Sunday December 21st, at 2pm. So people can come by, view the floats, get some candy, cookies, meet Santa, and go sledding. If anyone is interested in bringing a float, or interested in attending, please let me know.
