When I hear people say they don’t need a sewer scope because it is new construction or they just put in new sewer and drain lines. I show them these pictures that were taken during a video inspection of drain lines on a remodel. The contractor knows the value of giving their client a clean DWV system, and called us to jet out the sewer pipes after a remodel. Things do get in the lines during construction. If not removed they can cause a backup resulting in thousands of dollars in senate.

Client called and reported the basement drain was backing up. After having another company come out twice before and were unable to fix the problem. The Drain Pros used our sewer inspection camera to determine the line contained several areas of root intrusion. Roots typically enter a sewer line through a joint or broken pipe. Once we clean out the removed a major portion of the root intrusion for this joint we determined the pipe was broken which was allowing the roots to freely enter the pipe. Client called with a back up in their house, which was initially believed to be the main sewer line. After walking through the blockage with the client we were able diagnose where the problem was. After we removed the toilet paper from the line and get the pipe drained we found the cause of the blockage, and was able to get it removed. If line would have just been snake it would have opened up and allowed for the water to drain, but would have clogged back up. With out tools and training we video inspected the line to find out the problem, and successfully clear the problem to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Hey friends! I wanted to take a moment to talk about a common kitchen habit that could cause some serious plumbing issues. Let's talk about eggshells and why we should never toss them down the drain.

The Shell Dilemma:
While it may seem convenient to dispose of eggshells down the drain, it's actually a big no-no! Here's why:

1. Clogging Concerns: Eggshells have a tendency to break into small, granular pieces when crushed. These tiny bits can easily accumulate and create clogs in your pipes, leading to slow drainage or even complete blockages.

2. Grease Nightmare: Eggshells can also trap and hold onto greasy substances, like oils or fats, which often find their way into the kitchen sink. When mixed together, they form a sticky mess that can cling to the inside of your pipes, exacerbating clogging issues.

A customer called and said their laundry drain line was backing up into their home. I quick scope of the line and we were able to determine the interior diameter of the cast iron pipe have been severely decreased in size due to the scale build up. With our tools we were able to go in and removed a significant amount of scale build up and opened the pipes of allowing them to flow properly. Client called due to their kitchen drain backing up, and they were unable to get the clogged removed on their own. We were able to remove the blockage and inspect the line. We found the line had a build up of F.O.G (fats, oils, and grease). We made quick work of the clog and build up with our hydro jetter and got line almost as good as new.
