5 Cleaning Tips Before Showing Your Home

1. Start with the front door.
Sweep the porch, knock down cobwebs, clean the door and wipe down the glass. Buyers start forming an opinion before they ever walk inside.
2. Make the kitchen shine.
Clear the counters, wipe down cabinets and appliances, scrub the sink and don’t forget the top of the refrigerator. A clean kitchen can make the entire home feel better cared for.
3. Pay attention to bathrooms.
Clean mirrors, faucets, showers and toilets, put away personal items and replace worn towels with fresh ones. You want it to feel clean, bright and fresh.
4. Don’t forget what buyers look down at.
Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, clean baseboards and pay extra attention to corners and pet hair. Clean floors make a bigger difference than people realize.
