Upcoming schedule

We will not be available on certain days this month. We apologize for any inconvenience.

June 8th
June 9th
June 24th

These are for sure days. I will update this as I know more. My wife has tests and a surgery and I have a test coming up as well.

We are taking random weekends to include Fridays and Mondays to go work on our house and property.

I don't often share a lot of pur personal life but here is the run down and a little back story for you.

My wife has been dealing with kidney issues, gallbladder issues, and some other things we are testing for. The doctor thinks it may be mini strokes. She is doing well. She is still normal, just navigating the beautiful world of health problems. She will have some down time once again but we will get through as it as we always have. She has had some issues from falling off our parade float a couple of years ago. One reason we didn't participate this year. She lost hearing in one of her ears and it could have caused issues that are just now showing themselves. We don't know for sure. A lot of what if's.

I am having a nerve test done to try to get to the bottom of why my arm continues to hurt all the time. Just one of probably several tests I'm sure I will endure to figure it out. I have carpal tunnel, tendinitis, and arthritis in my arms so it could be any one or a mixture of those. But we are starting with the nerves. It causes my arm to hurt, I get pain in my arm, hand, neck, and ocassional migraines.

Long story short, we aren't ancient yet but getting older sucks. We were both in sports and marching band in our younger days so a lot took a toll on us through the years. I didn't always listen when I was told not to do things alone. She's already endured several knee surgeries and will require replacements once they finally decide she qualifies to get it done. She has had surgery on one kidney and may require it again in the future unfortunately.

Not looking for sympathy, it's just how life goes. She quit working the career path she had for many years due to these ongoing issues. She was being forced to use stairs she cannot do anymore without causing more damage and other potential injuries. We have been trying to make lifestyle changes to adapt to all of this rather than sueing a company for violating doctors orders. We're not disabled but it sure feels like we're on our way there sometimes. Lol.

On a good note, her tooth was removed successfully without needing the surgery they expected. A huge relief for that.
We are greatful for the work we get and are able to do. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I'm sure if you order groceries you may see her from time to time. She is strong and independent. She just had a tooth pulled yesterday and is back out delivering already today.

I decided to start my own business a long time ago. I decided to change things up so I knew I could do what I offer now. I knew it was getting harder for both of us to keep going the way we were. I went legal and filed for my llc a few years ago. Got insured and here we are. I was a factory and restaurant worker for many years. I worked odd jobs for a while and even worked for some friends. I started out doing handyman side work kind of deal then went into pressure washing. During which time we got into homesteading. I worked building food trucks and did a restaurant renovation. I worked at a horse rescue until the pain in my arm wouldn't allow me to and we decided to move back here after my father in law passed away. It took me a bit to get my business legal once we got here. It's a process for sure. When pressure washing, deck staining, etc didn't really take off I made a change and went to property maintenance where I offer the services I have now. It is still hard work but less demanding on my body. There are just things I cannot do like I used to. I have dealt with muscle spasms, numbness, and pain for many many years.

My wife went from restaurant, nursing home, and hotel work to delivering packages. Now she delivers groceries as she navigates what will be best for her and our family moving forward.

We are moving because we found a little more land than we have now for our homestead. We will have room for our animals and a place to garden again. We have 4 growing children and we found a house that will allow them to grow and have space. The house is also all one level vs the two we have now. We will miss it here as we always have in the past. It's not a lack of work or the community itself that is causing us to move. We just simply couldn't find what we needed to live life here. We have friends and famiky here. And we have all of our valued clients we have had the privilege to serve over the past 3 years. We are hoping to be moved by the end of summer. We have a long road ahead to do that.

I hope this fills some of the curiosity you may have. Thank you for your time. We look forward to serving you!

I am considering taking on some side work to help during down times. This would include lawn care. I have previous experience with lawn care. I am not looking nor desire to go into lawn care full time or have a large list to manage. So if you have some property that needs maintained locally, I'd be happy to consider it. I don't have a commercial mower to take on a high volume, but I wouldn't mind a few to mow and maybe teach my son the trade. Don't worry, I'm not going to massively under bid the competition. They can have it. But I will stay competitive with pricing. The one thing I know how to do is mow a lawn and trim hedges and trees lol.

I am interested in just a handful of lawns I can get done in a day or two once a week or every other week.

For me extended down time means late nights that in return mess up my daily schedule and routine. I don't get enough work to override the insomnia. So a little extra work on the side won't hurt anything. After all, reclaiming overgrown lawns is part of what I do anyway.

I can mow, weedeat, trim hedges or tree limbs, spread seed and fertilizer. I can do stripes.

Unfortunately I purchased a brand new leaf blower already damaged. However I was too late to claim warranty on it. We didn't know it was damaged until we went to do a seasonal tune up and discovered they had stripped the spark plug for us. I can't blow off sidewalks and driveways like normal but there are other ways to get it done. At worst I have a broom. Lol. The leaf blower is one of the least used pieces of equipment I own so it has not taken a high priority. I've called around, it can't be fixed, I have to purchase a new one.

Here are the limestone sizes and current prices. These peices are only good for Pulaski and Laclede Counties. I can haul further distances but the haul fee increases or I can price at your local quarry but haul fees will change depending on the distance. This is how I base my estimates. These prices are PLUS tax. Tax comes after I load out. In order to make this easier I add a small amount to what the loads usually total out to. That amount covers taxes and card fees if I pay by card. There is a minimum 3 something percent for using my card. This can easily and quickly add $10 per load. Then I add the delivery fee.

I typically go to the closest quarries to me or you. Local deliveries get my typical delivery fee. Please don't expect me to drive an hour or two away to deliver materials and not expect to pay more for that. I can't just drive 100 plus miles to deliver one load of rock for my typical fee. That won't even cover my fuel to get there and back. That being said, I will still discount to drive those distances for multiple loads. I always try to keep my prices fair.

I know for some it is hard to believe what I charge, and that is ok. I charge what I need to charge. I don't make much off single loads but they do add up. And if you decide I am worth more than I charged, tips are always welcome. You don't make money selling something for $1, you make money by selling multiple items for $1. That is how I run my business. 1 load isn't going to pay the bills but if I keep my prices fair and I get the jobs, the bills will get paid. I don't need to upscale everything 150-200% to feel good about myself. God has always taken care of me and my family and I trust he will continue to provide. Most of my other services average out to be $35 to $50 an hour except for excavation. I don't charge by the hour because I know what I need to make per job to stay in the positive. The worst my estimates have ever been off in the many years I have been doing business at worst was $30. I don't need to get rich, I just need to pay the bills. There have been many jobs I could have charged more for, absolutely, but I didn't feel bad when I left the job site for the last time. I'm not a corporation or business that has over done myself and considers down time as losing money. A down time just means I'm not making money and maybe I need to advertise more. I'm not in a hurry to make back my investments. I don't have a bank or anyone else telling me I have to do certain things to be profitable this year. I will add equipment or attachments and upgrades as I earn them or can. Maybe that sets me behind the competition, but I can do a lot of what they can do with what I have.

So thank you all who have taken the time to read this. Thank you all for your support, your concerns, your comments, and suggestions. I do listen, I promise. I just do what is best for me and my business. Word of mouth may be the slow way to grow but it the best way to grow.

For their privacy I have cropped out the name of the quarry. I do not care to share where I get it from with my clients and it is on every load out receipt.

Have a blessed day!

We have a lot going on right now so please be patient as we try to work our schedule to work for everyone. My wife had been battling with various medical issues which have resulted in various tests and appointments lately. I am doing my best to juggle between work and personal life right now.

Also another reminder. I cannot make the same deal I make locally for jobs that are near the end of my service radius. We are all dealing with fuel prices right now. I can't work for free. For some it is still too much and others it doesn't seem like enough but I do what I can to keep prices fair. I have to make more than just my fuel costs or what is the point? I still don't charge what others do and that is what matters to me. Whether I can save you $30 or a few thousand, I do my best to save you what I can. I still have bills to pay even if my overhead is low. Insurance, electric, fuel, phone and internet, etc. does not come free. If I am to travel over 100 miles, I can't do that on air. I wish I could. Some deals I just cannot make. You simply cannot win them all. I would suggest contacting your neighbors or friends and family and see what they need done and make it more worth the trip, otherwise I have to charge what I have to charge. And not all of my services qualify for a discount.

I am willing to help anyone the best I can, I have always been that way. I have been burnt more than I care to count doing it. That being said, if someone is struggling and someone is willing to help cover those expenses, I will entertain any job within the services I offer, to those who need it. Materials and fuel cost money. I can sacrifice my labor for the right cause. In certain circumstances I can even consider sacrificing the fuel costs. But nothing in this world is free.

Thank you and have a blessed day.

Another busy day at the quarry! They are back in full swing making gravel once again on top of everyone coming and going buying it. Sometimes it's not just a load and go, sometimes we get to sit and watch a while, while we wait to get loaded. All of what I delivered yesterday was freshly crushed/mixed stone. A huge pile started once again. I'm a grown man, but I am still fascinated by the small things in life. Watching the conveyors moving stone into different bins, trucks getting loaded, and those massive trucks climbing the piles to replenish them. Things we don't get to see or watch every day in person.
