This Saturday, join the Coastal Cleanup fun!

Watsonville's will have three cleanup locations, including the one being led by .

Students will have a chance to earn community service hours. Snacks and cleanup materials will be provided. Dress comfortably and bring your reusable water bottle.

The event will run from 9AM to 12PM at:

Good news!

Starting December 18, 2024, at 6 p.m. the California Air Resources Board will start distributing new e-bike vouchers of up to $2,000 for residents of disadvantaged communities and people of low income to purchase an eligible e-bike from an approved retailer. Apply at ebikeincentives.org (link in our bio)

The portal will stay open until all available incentives are claimed. High demand is expected so the vouchers may go quickly. Make sure to share this opportunity with friends and family!

Nature Center Mosaic Mural Update!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Nature Center Artwork survey. Priscilla Martinez of Watsonville was awarded the design contract to fabricate mosaics for the new Nature Center in Ramsay Park. Priscilla is currently refining the designs for the entrance wall and pathways with community input.

Our partners Community Arts & Empowerment will begin fabricating these mosaics this fall. We will share details on volunteer opportunities in the coming months. This project is funded by a Coastal Stories grant from the State Coastal Conservancy.

¡Actualización del mural de mosaicos del Nature Center!

Gracias a todos los que participaron en la encuesta sobre obras de arte del Centro de Naturaleza. Priscilla Martínez de Watsonville recibió el contrato de diseño para fabricar mosaicos para el nuevo Centro de Naturaleza en Ramsay Park. Priscilla actualmente está perfeccionando los diseños de la pared de entrada y los caminos con el aporte de la comunidad.

Nuestros socios Community Arts & Empowerment comenzarán a fabricar estos mosaicos este otoño. Compartiremos detalles sobre oportunidades de voluntariado en los próximos meses. Este proyecto está financiado por una beca de Coastal Stories de State Coastal Conservancy.

Prevent pollutants from washing down our storm drains and into our sloughs by washing your car on grass instead of your driveway— or take it to a commercial car wash instead. Never pour dirty or soapy water on the streets or storm drains, flush it down the toilet instead.

Deadline Extended to May 23rd, 5pm!

The City of Watsonville and Watsonville Wetlands Watch in partnership with Community Arts & Empowerment are seeking an artist to design images that will be translated into mosaics for the main entrance and pathway of the new Nature Center opening in Ramsay Park in 2025. Three selected artists will be given a $1,000 stipend for rough designs on the theme of human and natural migrations and environmental stewardship of the Pajaro Valley and wetlands, including indigenous stewardship. One of the three will be paid $7,000 to respond to community input and refine their designs.

The Request For Qualifications is available online at watsonvillewetlandswatch.org/rfq (link in bio). Submissions are due by May 23rd at 5pm. Please see our website for details.
