Happy Halloween Everyone!!

Starting at noon on Monday, November 2 we will be starting our 5th Annual Thanksgiving Raffle at the store.

Every time you come in and do your Laundry from November 2-18 fill out ONE Raffle entry. TWO lucky customers will be randomly selected on November 18th and win a Frozen Turkey for Thanksgiving!!

Hi All,

This morning we found out the our Hot Water Heater, that is only 3 years old, has died and needs to be replaced.

We have secured a company to to do the work and replace/install a new hot water heater but it won’t be until early next week before the work will be completed.

All washers are working but we will without hot water at the store until the hot water heater is replaced.

Thank you for understanding as we make this unexpected repair.

Hi everyone……we are once again having an issue with Spectrum Internet….Spectrum has rebooted our system and we are told that the card readers on washers and dryers should be working by 12:15.

We apologize for the issues. All our machines take quarters so that is still an option.

If for some reason the card readers aren’t working again please let us know.

Hi Everyone…..Spectrum has had an internet issue at the Waterloo store today making it so our card readers weren’t working. We’ve been told the issue has been fixed and our card readers on the washers and dryers should be back up running at 5:30pm. As always, using quarters has been working all day.

Thank you for bringing our laundry cart back last night……although, laundry carts aren’t made for humans to sit in and we discourage that with multiple signs in our store but hey, we appreciate you bringing it back non-the-less.

Good morning Waterloo……

Owner Chucck Hinkel wanted to set the record straight so that there wasn’t anyone out there giving misinformation about Laundry Depot and his plans.

First, Chuck Hinkel has owned Waterloo Laundry Depot for over 10 years. He’s had 7-8 different people approach him in the last year about selling the store but he is NOT selling it. In fact, Friday we started our updating of the store by replacing some of the ceiling tiles on the railroad track side. The inside of the store will get a new paint job, broken trim around the store is getting replaced, sealing on the floor is being repaired, and we will be adding air conditioning to the store in the Spring.

As everyone knows, we recently sold our Airbnb Laundry Service business. It will allow us to concentrate on growing our core business of customers coming into the Waterloo store to do their laundry as there will be more machines for customers to do laundry.

In addition, Chuck wants everyone to know that YES he is sell the Geneva Laundry Depot location in the Plaza across from Wegmans in Geneva. He has owned that location for 7 years but has decided it was time to start to slow down and enjoy family more and move towards semi-retirement. The sale of the Geneva store is expected to happen at the end of October/early November. We are confident everyone will be pleased with who the new owners will be…..who have many years of business experience.

Many might not know this but Chuck also owns two laundromat’s in Rochester as well and will be selling one of those locations this Spring as well leaving him with just the Waterloo and one store in Rochester locations as his Semi-retirement plan continues to take shape.

The other good news is our Waterloo store manager Vicky is staying on with us AND she is also taking over the wash & fold business in the store. So come in and see Vicky and let her help you with your laundry like she has for the last 9 years!

One thing remains the same and has never changed in the 10+ years Chuck has owned Waterloo……We love you Waterloo!!

BIG NEWS TO SHARE TONIGHT

Owner Chuck Hinkel is excited to announce that our Laundry Depot Airbnb Laundry Service, that services 400 Airbnb properties in the Finger Lakes W**e Country, has been acquired by Bright Bubble Wash & Fold LLC. The sale officially happens next Friday, September 25 with Bright Bubble taking over the operation on Monday, September 28.

5 years ago we created this business and started with just 30 properties the first year and it kept growing very quickly. It become a juggernaut in the Finger Lakes growing 30% each of the last 4 years. Bright Bubble is the perfect company to purchase us as their larger infrastructure and experience will help the business grow even more.

Laundry Depot will continue to operate its two Laundromats in Geneva and Waterloo moving forward.

About 6 weeks ago we were approached about selling the Laundry Service. Prior to that we had no intention to sell, in fact, we had been working on expanding the business with plans to expand the Waterloo location. However, it became very clear quickly that selling to Bright Bubble Wash & Fold LLC was the right move for us and our business moving forward.

Despite the sale we intend to still do many improvements to the Waterloo store.

Don’t worry Waterloo our Store Manager Vicky Van Horn, who has worked for us for 9 years isn’t going anywhere and will still be working Monday-Friday at the store.

Also, this will open up the stores for our growing customer base to use more equipment on a daily basis.

While we’re excited about this sale, we have other BIG announcements to make before the end of 2026.
