As few people know an apiary is simply a place where bees are kept. Evolving Apiaries is dedicated to doing our small part in the effort to restore Michigan's honey bees by keeping and supplying local colonies. Our goal is to increase the population through hive management and providing homes for at risk honey bees from swarms and cutouts. After colonies come into our care they are lovingly looked

after with a bees first mentality. When they are happy and healthy we are often blessed with surplus honey which we sell to our friends, family, and anyone else who loves pure raw honey! Evolving Apiaries is always looking for locations to place hives in the Waterford/White Lake area. It's been a slow and unpredictable year for swarms, but I've seen a few of them in posts lately so please keep an eye out. Even though it's hot outside, swarm removal is still FREE! We can also help with established colonies, hornets, and wasps for a reasonable fee.

Swarm #4 was a bit tricky, they were 35-40 feet up in a maple tree. The branch was too solid to shake so I had to "scrape" the bees off the bottom with my bucket that was taped to a pole. It actually went pretty smoothly considering the situation.
