Just another small remodel that we knocked out of the park. A leak caused severe damage to the subfloor and joists in this bathroom, and the homeowner wanted to update, and waited 3 months to wait for me to come do it due to my special attention to the things that really matter when it comes to your home. I couldn’t do it without my main man Vinny Mayo, but nonetheless a small bathroom update made this family very happy. I replaced several floor joists, the sub floor, removed all the old plumbing and installed new drains and water lines in the crawl space and replaced the shower valve and shower riser. Then installed the new shower pan and glass doors with the help of Victory Contracting. We installed new flooring, toilet, vanity and baseboards and the customer was thrilled, which is all that matters at the end of the day.

I said all that to say this. We are making some serious changes to our business soon, and I wouldn’t be in business if I didn’t have my loyal customers that know that I will always go the extra mile. I’m not a “lipstick” contractor, nor will I ever be, even if it means I lose some profit. At the end of the day I treat every single job as an opportunity to serve, and to make a positive impact to your life, home or business. I am not knocking other companies, I just know who I am and what really matters. I’m tired of seeing people(myself included) being taken advantage of.

So, I need a new business name. Cornett’s Contracting & Drain Solutions is my thought, but I want your suggestions, and your feedback about how the up and coming contractors around here can better serve the community.

I am happy to say that I am 100% healed and ready to work. I have been taking it easy for the most part, but will take on big or small jobs myself from this point forward. If you or anyone you know needs service or new construction, give me a call or PM me personally.

I am almost home. Surgery went well, but had several surgeons and doctors tell me I need to pick a different career. My entire adult life this has been the only trade I’ve ever known and I hate to say that I don’t have a back up plan because I put all my chips into this basket. I have built a reputation that I’m very proud of, considering what and who I used to be, and the ground I’ve covered in a little over 4 years. That being said, until I figure out my next move, there are 2 men with exceptional character that I recommend if anyone needs work done.

#1 being Vinny Mayo. His phone number is 812-617-2820. He owns and operates Victory Contracting and I use him as a subcontractor on many of my projects.

#2 is Soloman Kingson Guide Hammack. He owns and operates Rescue Kings Contracting and his phone number is 812-797-4746.

Both of these men have never let me down, and they have always called me if they have questions or need advice about how I would do something, and to me that is everything. I care about my customers, and I have a certain standard that I operate at. I thank you for all your prayers and support, but I will be down and out for the next 6 weeks trying to recover. My family and I will need all the help we can get, as I am the sole provider for our family. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and pray for our future.

Currently in Evansville Ascension St Vincent. Herniated a disc and lost feeling in my left leg and severe pain in my lower back. I believe I am going under the knife some time today. We are going to need your prayers, as I’m the sole provider for my family. I need the operation to go smooth and to have a speedy recovery.

It breaks my heart to make this post, but I want to inform everyone of what is going on. There’s a company out of Indy called The Drainman, inc. I had no idea that this company existed, and I went through all the proper channels to get my LLC and the name for my LLC. This guy found out about me through a mistake a tool vendor made. The man that owns that business sent me a very nasty message about a month ago, then proceeded to hire an attorney and sent me a cease and desist letter. I called many lawyers, and I’ve been told by all of them that I have a really good chance if I wanted to spend the money to keep the name to beat this guy. Basically by the time it’s all said and done it would cost me way too much money to keep the name The Drain Man.

I am devastated to say the least, especially since we are trademarked and my wife’s design for the A in our logo, I believe that I’m going to just let it go and change the name. This guy has four pages of civil suits on Mycase, and has enough money and nothing better to do than drown a man who just tried to make a name and a reputable company for Washington and surrounding areas. I’ve lost sleep over it, I’ve put my blood sweat and tears into every ounce of everything I have, but I don’t have the money to fight this guy.

The bottom line is I’m going to rename the company, and I want everyone’s opinions on names. I would like to keep the word Drain in it because my Wife’s logo is incredible, So please give me your suggestions. Thank you, everyone

Due to overwhelming work load, we are only taking emergency calls until further notice. I am at least a month out on the schedule right now. It’s good to be busy, but I hate having to turn people away. I’m looking to hire skilled subcontractors, but until then I can only do so much. I apologize to those of you that I have not been able to get to.
