Who is responsible for his death?

President Trump declared on Truth Social that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead following a series of strikes the U.S. and Israel launched against Iran.

“Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead,” Trump posted on social media. “This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said previously that Israel had destroyed the compound of Iran’s supreme leader.

The strikes, which triggered a retaliatory barrage of Iranian missiles and drones at Israel and U.S. bases throughout the region, were preceded by a monthlong U.S. military buildup that followed a Trump pledge to come to the aid of protesters who challenged the regime in January. Trump said the major combat operation, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, was to ensure Americans would never be threatened by a nuclear-armed Iran. He called on Iranians to take control of the government.

Republican lawmakers praised the military operation, while Democrats called the attacks “illegal.” European leaders condemned Iran’s retaliatory strikes on countries in the region and urged Iran to resume negotiations.
