When I decided to rebrand, it was for several reasons—but the biggest one was simple: I wanted to do better.

This new chapter is a fresh start and a chance to highlight the skills I’ve spent years honing, thanks to the trust and support of some truly wonderful clients. It’s also an opportunity to bring something back that I’ve always loved—turnover cleaning. It can be challenging and fast-paced, but it’s also one of the most satisfying parts of the job.

I’m excited to officially add short-term and vacation rental turnover cleaning to the Sunflower Cleaning service lineup.

Are you really getting your surfaces clean?

You grab your bottle of cleaner and your rag and you get to work. Spray, wipe…move to the next area and repeat. But, are you cleaning or just moving cleaning products around on your countertops?

Your products need time to work. You don’t immediately rinse the conditioner from your hair, right? No. Because it needs time to do its job.

Cleaning products also need time. If you spray and wipe immediately, you may not be giving the product enough time to actually clean. Instead, spray your surfaces (with the correct chemical for that surface and desired result) and then let it sit for 3-4 minutes before wiping it up. This ensures all bits are loosened or stickiness is desolved and bacteria and buildup are broken down. This is one of the biggest differences between a surface that looks clean and one that actually is.

Pro tip: after wiping up cleaners such as degreasers, bathroom cleaners and non oil based cleaners, rinse the shower walls and tub with the shower head and wipe other surfaces with a clean, wet rag. Use a towel to hand dry. It gets rid of any residue and keeps mold at bay!
