Someone told me a long time ago that when trading in a vehicle with a dealership don't expect to get any more for your trade than what KBB or Blue Book shows. Don't bother cleaning it, new this or new that.
Well, this myth has been proven incorrect. I won't mention names out of privacy reasons. 1st was Toyota Sequoia. She had me detail it at the highest level. Engine included. The sales person gave her an additional $1000 for trade because his "people" didn't have to do anything but put the sticker on the window. 2nd is another lady trading in an older model Honda Accord. There was a great deal of detail work to do to bring out the shine. This included the engine and headlight restoration. She was offered a trade of $3000 when she first visited the dealership. When she returned to pick her new vehicle up and leave her Honda the dealership increased her trade to $8000.
