Hidden entry point šŸ«„
Not every entry point is easy to find. Some stay hidden until you know exactly where to look.

This one happened to be tucked next to a water spout opening on the deck. After a little blind reaching and some careful inspection, I confirmed the entry point and sealed it up before it could become a bigger problem.

The small openings are often the ones that get overlookedā€”but theyā€™re exactly where unwanted guests like to sneak in. šŸ› ļøšŸ­

Caught this bug guy today. šŸ’Ŗ

Iā€™ve been treating this property for a while, and today we finally figured out exactly how he was getting in.

There was a hidden gap where the gable eaves met the main roof. Once we sealed that entry point, it redirected him straight to my trap.

This is one of the things I enjoy most about this industry. Pest control isnā€™t just about setting trapsā€”itā€™s about finding the source of the problem and solving it. Every property is different, and thereā€™s always something new to learn.

Iā€™ve always enjoyed the challenge of treating the Bay Areaā€™s restaurant scene. Iā€™ve found overtime the secret to a successful restaurant service is being extra thorough around every fridge and kitchen appliance. Treating the baseboard behind, under the appliance itself, motor areas, and the sides.
The ultimate goal is to make any restaurant kitchen as hostile of an environment as possible for any roach that wants to try and come in.

Found this today at a new clients home šŸ‘€

Hard plastics are nothing for a determined rat. I see this time and time again, the longer a rodent hangs around a home the more likely they are to make a hole. People often think rats are only opportunistic, entering already existing gaps or sneaking through a door. While this does happen, itā€™s important to realize theyā€™ll do desperate and crazy things to get food or avoid predators.

These flattened paths in attic insulation are travel routes that rodents create by using the same runways repeatedly.
I call them ā€œgame trailsā€ šŸ€
During inspections, weā€™re looking for clues like these to determine activity and to place traps where theyā€™re most effective.

Found this today while completing a first-time service for a client.

One thing Iā€™ve noticed over the years is that ivy and rodents often go hand in hand. Thick ivy provides excellent cover, allowing rats and mice to nest, travel, and multiply without being noticed until the population has grown.

If you have ivy around your home, itā€™s worth checking the area regularly for signs of rodent activity.

Most homeowners never look on their roof, which makes it the perfect place for paper wasps to build a nest.

One reason I often find them around metal roof vents is because the metal absorbs heat from the sun, creating a warm, protected spot that paper wasps are naturally drawn to.

What starts as a single queen can grow into a much larger colony over the summer, so catching these nests early is much easier than dealing with a mature colony later.

It's just another reminder that some of the most important areas to inspect are the ones you rarely see.
