We’re all aware that stores are running low or completely out of cleaning supplies currently. Since there has been such a heightened sense of cleanliness lately, we want to help you at home stay as healthy as possible.
While you’re cleaning your homes, please remember some chemicals shouldn’t be mixed, or it can cause some pretty serious effects on your health.
- Don’t mix bleach with ANYTHING other than water. Bleach is highly reactive when combined with other chemicals and can create several toxic fumes that will cause respiratory irritation, chemical burns, and worst case scenario, death.
- Don’t mix vinegar and peroxide. This combo creates an acid which causes eye and nose irritation and can cause chemical burns.
- Don’t mix antibacterials/disinfectants and soap/detergent. While tempting, research shows that when combined, the two products neutralize each other and become ineffective.
Keep these things in mind when cleaning your homes. Stay safe!
