Upstate Carpet Cleaning Services LLC is more than a cleaning company. It is a family legacy built on hard work, dedication, perseverance, and genuine relationships with the people we serve.
Our story began in 1950, when the business was originally established as K-Mac. My Papa, Randy Frady, worked for the company for many years, learning the trade and developing a passion for serving people.
In 2004, Randy Frady purchased the business and dedicated himself to building it into something bigger. He didn’t just want to run a successful carpet-cleaning company. He wanted to create a company people could trust and a business that would become part of the community.
Randy put his heart and soul into the business. Through years of hard work, dedication, and treating people the right way, he helped grow the company and earn Best of the Best recognition year after year.
But the awards were never what mattered most to him.
Customers weren’t just customers to Randy. They became friends, and many became like family.
I was born and raised in Seneca, South Carolina, and this business was part of my life from the time I was a child. Randy didn’t just teach me how to clean carpets. He raised me in this business and taught me the value of hard work, honesty, perseverance, and taking pride in what you do.
I started working alongside him when I was only 11 years old, making $5 per job. To me, that $5 meant everything. I was proud to work for it, and I loved being able to take what I earned and buy things for myself and even things to share with my friends.
In 2021, Randy was diagnosed with cancer. I made the decision to purchase the business from him so he could focus his time and energy on what mattered most—his health and getting better.
Taking over a business with so much history and meaning behind it was one of the biggest responsibilities of my life.
Then, in May 2024, we lost Randy.
Losing my Papa—the man who raised me, taught me this trade, and gave me the foundation for everything I’m building today—was devastating. I stepped away from the business for a while because I needed time to grieve and come to terms with losing someone who meant so much to me.
But eventually, I realized something:
The best way I could honor him was to keep going.
Today, Upstate Carpet Cleaning Services LLC is back—and we’re stronger than ever.
At 28 years old, I’m carrying forward a business that has been part of our community for more than seven decades. Every carpet we clean, every floor we restore, and every customer we meet represents another chapter in a story that started long before I was born.
And we’re not done.
Our vision is to build Upstate Carpet Cleaning Services LLC into one of the biggest and most trusted carpet and floor-cleaning companies throughout the Carolinas and Georgia, while staying true to the values that Randy built this company on.
We want to continue creating relationships—not transactions.
We want our customers to know that when they call us, they’re not just hiring a cleaning company.
They’re calling a family.
Randy’s legacy lives on through this company, through the family he raised, through the people he touched, and through every customer who became a friend along the way.
What he built didn’t end when he passed. It became my responsibility to carry it forward.
