If your area just got hit by a storm, the next 24-48 hours matter more than most homeowners realize.

Here's how to document damage the right way before you call your adjuster:

1. Take photos immediately — date and timestamp everything
2. Photograph from multiple angles, including ground level and any accessible areas
3. Document damage to other property too (gutters, siding, vehicles, fencing)
4. Note the date and approximate time of the storm
5. Save any weather reports or alerts from that day
6. Do NOT attempt repairs before your adjuster has seen the damage

Good documentation protects your claim. It gives your adjuster clear evidence and reduces the chance of disputes down the line.

Not sure what you're looking at or where to start? We're happy to walk through it with you — that's part of what we do.

Most homeowners don't realize hail damage isn't always visible from the ground — and waiting to find out can cost you.

Hail affects your roof in three main ways:

1. Granule loss — those tiny granules on your shingles protect against UV rays and water. Hail knocks them loose, accelerating wear.
2. Bruising — soft spots form beneath the surface where the shingle mat is damaged. You can't see it, but it weakens the shingle's ability to shed water.
3. Cracking — direct impact can split shingles, creating entry points for moisture.

The tricky part? All three can look minor from the street but lead to leaks, rot, and structural damage over time.

If your area saw hail this season, a professional inspection is the only way to know for sure what you're dealing with. Ours are free, no pressure, and we'll walk you through exactly what we find.

Fall is closer than it feels — and your roof needs to be ready before the freeze hits.

Here are 7 warning signs to check before the season changes:

1. Missing or curling shingles
2. Granules collecting in your gutters
3. Dark streaks or staining on the roof surface
4. Sagging areas anywhere on the roofline
5. Daylight visible in your attic
6. Water stains on interior ceilings or walls
7. A roof that's 20+ years old with no recent inspection

Any of these sound familiar? Don't wait until the first snowfall to find out you have a problem. Minnesota winters are hard on roofs — especially ones that are already compromised.

Free inspections are available now. Reach out and we'll take a look.

Not all roofing is created equal, and Minnesota weather makes that very clear.

We deal with things most states don't have to think about all at once: subzero winters, ice dams, heavy snow loads, spring freeze-thaw cycles, summer hail, and humidity that works its way into everything. A roof that holds up in Arizona or Georgia isn't built for what we put it through here.

That's why we don't cut corners on materials or installation. We spec for Minnesota. That means proper underlayment, the right ventilation to prevent ice dams, and shingles rated for the temperature swings we actually see.

50+ years of combined experience in this climate means we've seen what fails and what lasts. We build roofs that last.

If you're not sure your current roof was built with Minnesota in mind, we're happy to take a look. Visit our website for a free roof inspection ↓
