When do we start fertilizing? 🧪🌱
We get asked this a lot once the sun starts peaking out! At Eagle Turf Care, we don’t just guess—we use the Rule of 150 to ensure your lawn gets exactly what it needs at the perfect time.

What is the Rule of 150?
For grass to enter its peak growing phase, the biology of the plant needs sustained warmth. We look for the daily high and the daily low to add up to 150 consistently.

Example: > ☀️ High of 85° + 🌙 Low of 65° = 150
Why wait?

We know it’s tempting to start now, but Georgia usually has a few more cold spells up its sleeve! Fertilizing too early during a "fake spring" can actually stress your lawn if a frost hits.

Myth: I can just pull crabgrass and goosegrass once I see them.

Fact: While you can pull them, these weeds are prolific seed producers. Pulling them often leaves seeds behind, and they'll just keep coming back, often thicker than before! Plus, it's a never-ending, back-breaking chore once they've taken hold.
