To all who are interested in hiring my services. For the next five months I will be wearing a mask at every job, lysoling my shoes, and using hand sanitizer before and after each job - due to the sudden increase in CO-VID 19 cases in the Victoria area. This will insure both your health and my own during this crisis. So rest assured that your health is my priority.

Should, for some unforseen reason, I contract it, I will inform you all and I ask that you have the same curtsy should you come into contact with it. I wish only your health and safety! Hope you all have an amazing day!

So many are finding it harder and harder to find Clorox wipes. Thankfully I have an easy fix for you. Most Dollar Trees have rubbing alcohol and like many we all have an essential oil laying around. Here is the recipe for homemade, cheap disinfectant wipes.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups distilled water
1 1/4 cups Isopropyl alcohol at least 70%
1 Tbsp dawn dish soap
1 drop orange essential oil optional
1 paper towel roll

INSTRUCTIONS:

Take an empty wet wipe container or glass jar with lid that will fit a paper towel roll.

Place roll inside of container and measure where you should cut the roll with a large knife. (If needed)

Mix together water, alcohol, and dawn in a separate container. Pour the alcohol mixture on top of the paper towels and let mixture absorb to the bottom of the roll.

Then pull the tube from the center of the roll and pull the middle paper towel out of the top.

Place lid over container for storing.

Done!

This way tends to be much cheaper than the standard wipes, but I find to be more effective. I use Jasmine or honeysuckle scent oils in mind and it makes the whole house smell amazing. Hope this helps during these days!

Most people fear using bleach to clean, especially in the kitchen. I can completely understand. If you want clean, bacteria free counters, instead of using bleach us Isopropyl Alcohol, or better known rubbing alcohol. Hospitals use it for disinfecting as well as knowing that it dries quickly and is non toxic. So instead of bleach cleaning products for counters use rubbing alcohol!

Tricks of the Trade...

Many people ask me a lot about how I keep my faucets looking new. What product do I use? Is there something you put on it before you start using it?

My answer is always extremely simple. A lemon, or lemon juice in a spray bottle.

Here is how it works - no matter how soft your water is. Spots will form, this is due to both food residue and lime or minerals in the water. These build up over time leaving those pesky water stains.

Lemon juice has citrus acid in it, which breaks up these deposits and you simply wipe away to get that beautiful shine on!!!

Keeping shower doors spotless

Most of us can agree that keeping glass doors spotless is hard work. However there is a simple and effective way to keep them beautifully clean.

Take 1 teaspoon of lemon oil and rub it on the door. Do this twice a month. This will cause the water to head up and slide off.

Also if you aren't too keen on using oil you can use RainX original glass treatment twice a year.

Clean as you go...

Having learned from much experience we all know how annoying it is to clean up the kitchen after eating a good meal. Well here is a little piece of advice I learned recently from a chef. He said, 'Clean as you go...'

Which means, fill a sink basin with hot soapy water and put used dishes in it, wipe spills from sauce and oil as soon as it spills instead of letting it dry as you eat.

While you are eating dinner, the dishes are soaking and will be easier to clean, and having already wiped counters and stove is a saving grace when you go to wash the dishes or put them in the dishwasher. A majority of the sticky and dried material on pans will be softened and easier to wash off.

Clean your stove burners the easy way!!!

You cook… oil and grease spatter… they get heated and reheated and then pretty soon you have a disgusting coating that will not. scrub. off. ever.

What to do…? Stop. Scrubbing.

Remember ammonia? Basic ammonia? Take about 1/4 cup of ammonia and seal it up with one of the burners in a large ziploc bag. You only need a little ammonia in the bag. You are not trying to soak the burner… you just want to seal it up with the ammonia fumes. Best to leave it outside overnight. When it’s done sitting, it should wipe clean with a sponge.

Cheap ammonia and 12 hours = totally clean.

If you have a garbage disposal you probably always have to deal with the terrible smell afterwords, days and days worth. It really is a hassle, well I have an easy solution that does wonders!

Using an ice cube tray, fill the tray with 8 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Then cut up a lemon and drop a small piece of the lemon rind into each slot to help with odor. Leave the solution to freeze.

Remove the tray and drop the ice cubes down into the garbage disposal. Turn on the device and run some water from the faucet to help wash down the bits of debris. Make sure to completely grind up the ice.

The ice works well to not only sharpen the blades but also dislodge any pieces of food that may be stuck. The vinegar will clean off all of the surfaces and the lemon will leave a nice smell.

I know we've all bought a glass or two in our lives with a label sticker on the bottom of them. No matter what you do it seems like a small bit of residue is left behind or pieces of paper still stuck to the bottom.

Well I have a solution for you! Its called oxi-clean and water! That's right! Simply fill a sink with water and a scoop of oxi-clean to the water. Place the glass in it and in 30 minutes or less the label and gunky glue is off!
