When it rains heavily, the ground around your drainfield can become so wet that it can no longer drain properly?

What does this mean?
If your drainfield cannot drain properly, it can have the effect of making your septic tank fill to higher than normal levels. You may hear gurgling, maybe you smell an odor.. or even worse, you are actively backing up.

What can we do to prevent this?
Reduce the water load. Hold off on running the disherwasher or doing loads of laundry. Limit toilet flushing, baths & showers. Give your yard and drainfield time to dry out.
