The laundromat was broken into this morning. They didn’t get much… money is kept in the Bank where it belongs. They did destroy a lot of expensive stuff. They did steal a Milwaukee battery charger. They did make a mess that innocent customers will have to deal with while parts and pieces get delivered and can be installed.
Here are some pictures from our security system. If anyone recognizes either of these enterprising losers, myself and the Vergennes police would appreciate knowing. In fact, I’ll pay $1,000 to anyone who provides a tip that turns into an arrest and a conviction. Please message any tips directly- we don’t want to call out anyone publicly.
I appreciate everything the Vergennes Police have done and will do. Real pros. Now please allow me a little societal commentary. Twenty years ago, this stuff happened with far less frequency. When it did happen, it was not tolerated by the criminal justice system or the public. I will tell you that these losers were pros and have done this before. I would be shocked if they didn’t have a long history with the criminal justice system. We need to return to reasonable consequences for misconduct. This catch and release nonsense with nothing more that a slap on the wrist to the bad guy needs to stop. It lets the bad guys win at the expense of the rest of us.
