Awe mom and I always thought he was so sexy
In 1971, actor Clint Walker experienced a terrifying accident that nearly cost him his life. At 44 years old, Walker was attempting to get off a ski lift when he was accidentally pierced in the chest by a ski pole, causing a devastating injury directly near his heart. The situation appeared so severe that two doctors at the hospital believed he had died and had his body moved to the basement morgue area.
Fate, however, had other plans. A visiting cardiologist happened to pass through the basement while taking a shortcut through the hospital. Something prompted him to stop and examine Walker more closely. After checking for signs of life, the doctor reportedly said, “I think this man is still alive.” Thanks to that moment, Clint was rushed back for emergency treatment.
The following morning, Walker regained consciousness in intensive care, astonishing the medical staff. According to him, doctors later explained that even if he had survived such trauma, they expected severe brain damage — yet he recovered with his mind completely intact. Remarkably, within only two months, Clint Walker had returned to work.
Walker later spoke openly about the strange and deeply personal experience he believed he had while hovering between life and death. He described feeling completely aware and peaceful, as though he existed outside his physical body. He said he felt more conscious and spiritually awakened than ever before. Though he wasn’t afraid of staying in that place, he eventually felt compelled to return because he believed he still had a purpose left to fulfill on Earth. Walker often reflected on the experience as something spiritual and believed his survival may have been an answer to a higher calling.
