Can Social Media Marketing Really Help My Business?

Standing out and knowing exactly how to separate your business from the competitive back on social media can be daunting. This is particularly true if you’re a newer business or a small local business without unlimited resources. Considering that most small and medium-sized businesses today use social media to market their products or services in some capacity, your company must compete in this forum for attention and sales. It is a big challenge. But used correctly, social media marketing can be a powerful tool.

Here are some key benefits:

Increased Visibility: Social media platforms have billions of active users. By establishing a presence on popular platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others, you can increase your brand's visibility and reach a larger audience.
Brand Awareness: Social media allows you to showcase your brand, and services to as wide or narrow an audience as you need to. Consistent and engaging content helps build brand awareness, making your business more recognizable.
Audience Engagement: Social media provides a direct channel to connect with your audience. You can engage with your customers through comments, messages, and social media groups, fostering a sense of community around your brand.
Targeted Advertising: Many social media platforms offer highly targeted advertising options. This allows you to reach specific geography, demographics, interests, and behaviors, etc. This ensures that your marketing funds are focused on the most relevant audience, most likely to buy from you.
Controlled Cost-Effective Marketing: Compared to traditional advertising, social media marketing can be more cost-effective. Many social media platforms offer free account setups, and paid advertising options often allow you to set your budget and target specific demographics.
Customer Feedback and Insights: Social media platforms provide a space for customers to leave feedback, reviews, and comments. This information can be valuable for understanding customer preferences and improving your products or services.
Drive Website Traffic: Social media is an effective way to drive traffic to your website of for potential customers to contact you directly. By sharing links to your services, products, and contact information, you can direct users to your website or someone with whom to speak, and hopefully convert them into customers.
Stay Competitive: Many of your competitors, are almost certainly using social media to promote their products and/or services. By actively participating in social media marketing, you can stay competitive and ensure your brand remains relevant in your service areas and in your industry.

While social media marketing can offer numerous benefits, it's important to have a well-thought-out strategy, consistent content creation, and engagement with your audience. Additionally, the effectiveness of social media marketing can vary depending on your industry and target audience.

That said, your social media marketing strategy and branding don’t necessarily have to be completely revolutionary or totally innovative. Find ways to stand out in your specific industry or service area. Here are some helpful tips that can help your small business get noticed and truly stand out on social media (for the right reasons).

You will need to discover how and what to post on a variety of social media platforms. Social media is no longer optional. It has become an essential part of any business’s marketing and branding strategy. However, to make your social media content effective, you have to continually look for ways to set yourself apart. Consider the following in order to attract more followers and stand apart from the competition on social media:

Select the social media channels that are the best fit for your potential customers and your line of business
Understand where the people in your target market spend time on the internet.
Produce social media content that is engaging and differentiating in your market.
Make sure to include content with eye-catching visuals, including infographics, videos, charts and photography.
Most importantly, create content that stays true to your brand and includes client interaction, suppliers, events, and whatever else helps potential and existing customers fully understand and value your image and brand.
All content and information that you share on social media has to be are timely and relevant to your market
Be consistant and stay active on social media.
Regularly share industry tools and techniques, the “how-tos”, and other valuable content
Stay helpful, kind and human when interacting with your market on social media.

If you can’t or don’t want to put the required time and effort into developing a social media strategy, work with well qualified digital marketing experts like Spéir Mór Media to creating it with you (not for you-- make sure you are involved in the process!).

One last word of advice -- consistently differentiate your company from your conpetitors through common threads that bind together your marketing strategies. Remember these social media differentiators aren’t simply part of your ‘social strategy’ — they are an integral part of the company’s marketing in its entirety.

Social media content works best when it amplifies the positions of the company in addition to its offerings. It doesn’t work well when the messaging coming from social is fragmented and non-specific compared to other firms in your market. Make sure your entire marketing plan is aligned with how you want to stand out: in branding, content, in events, on social media content -- everything. The original blog post:

Helpful message from our friends at Ventura Air Conditioning and Heating Repair -- (805) 600- 5902 http://www.venturaheatacrepair.com :

If replacing your air conditioning or installing a system for the first time, remember that you are making a major investment in your home, business, or commercial property. We have seen many common mistakes that installers have made, which leaves the property owner at a disadvantage if they lack knowledge about the topic of air conditioning installation (which is most people, honestly). The correct installation of your new air conditioning system can provide a significant level of comfort and peace of mind to you. Since we have seen many problems in this area, we have provided the following tips and mistakes about air conditioning replacement or initial installation that property owners can avoid. We hope these tips help you ensure that you can tell if the job is being done correctly.

(1) Know where the condensing water is going to go?
When placed in the attic space, air conditioner drip pans are placed to collect water that forms through condensation -- which is an integral part of how an air conditioner works. When (not if) this water forms, it needs a place to go. If it is not removed, it will accumulate within the the air conditioning unit or within your home. A good technician will install and test a secondary drip pan to guard against water leaking into ceilings and walls as it follows gravity downward. We have seen a brand new home renovation ruined by water leaking through the brand new ceiling because water overflowed the one drip pan installed.

(2) Check that your contractor is bonded and licensed
A contract license surety bond is a protection for the customer against unfair dealings, as well as a degree of insurance in case something goes wrong with the agreement to do the proposed work. Having an unlicensed worker install your new system, you run the risk of voiding your new equipment’s manufacturer’s warranty.

(3) Make sure the refrigerant pipes are not too long
Its better if the pipes connecting the indoor and outdoor components are kept as short as possible. If the pipes are too long, it makes it difficult for the complete air conditioning system to efficiently complete the normal cooling cycle. If the system is unable to maintain the cooling cycle properly, the compressor will run continuously, which will lead to to the unnecessary over-use of electricity and eventually to the breakdown of the compressor, which is not designed to run continuously.

(4) Have the proper permits in place
This is very difficult for the average consumer to determine, as most are not well versed in the current codes and permitting requirements of their local municipality. Your contractor or technician should file needed permits for you at the appropriate local municipality building codes office. However, you can’t assume this has been done and done correctly. As a consumer, you are able to check with the codes office. If the proper permits are not pulled, you can be subject to fines and work interruptions.

(5) Do not fail to consider proper air flow
This is a very common issue with less experienced air conditioning contractors. They don’t understand the scope of the project and how the resulting air flow will impact the inhabitants of the space. If you have ever visited a home, office, or commercial space where the air conditioning didn’t seem to “reach” everywhere, you have seen the downside of contractors who didn’t consider proper air flow in the system design and correspondingly failed to build a system of the correct size and performance.

(6) Always have a contract in place and signed before any work starts
A well constructed contract will have all the important details laid out, including when the work will be performed and all costs for fees, labor, and the equipment to be installed. It should also address any future costs such as upgrades and the “due dates” of required payment.

(7) If doing a larger renovation, do not leave the selection of the air conditioning contractor to your general contractor.
Its up to the customer to ensure that your general contractor is inviting a qualified air conditioning company for installing the new system. These systems are complicated and require experienced and trained experts. All the licensing and bonding requirements apply even if a general contractor is actually hiring the air conditioning company. You want to know that the company being brought in understands the systems and can install, adjust, and tune the A/C system in keeping with your needs and the manufacturer’s specifications.

(8) Be mindful of where the general contractor or the air conditioning contractor installs your thermostat.
You want to make sure that your thermostat is in a convenient place for you (not just where the contractor feels like putting it), as well as where it is out of direct sun, and out of the direct air flow of cooled air. Either situation will result in the thermostat giving a false reading of interior temperature and have your system either overworking or not supplying enough cooling.
(9) Make sure your contract specifies when payments are due vis-a-vis the progress of the work.
The contract should stagger payments and match them to the milestones of the progression of the project. This way, you can hold back some payment if the pace of work slows, or there are errors or other problems. In many cases, you only have the contractors attention if they still need money from you.

(10) The importance of proper indoor tubing
You want to make sure that indoor tubing is insulated. Otherwise this tubing is likely to “sweat” and drip. The water generated can lead to water damage, including floors, walls and ceilings becoming stained, warped or in the case of a ceiling or wall, a total collapse of the water soaked dry wall. This may take some time to show up, but once it does, you can be facing big repair bills. It’s well worth a check to see if the proper insulation is done when the installation is done.

(11) Proper placement of the outdoor air conditioning unit
The positioning of the unit will have a big impact on the efficient operation of your air conditioning system. You might be temped to use an empty unused area outside your home, office, or commercial space. But if placed in a sunny spot, the unit will have to work hard to keep your space cool. Instead, consider a shady spot, which is typically on the north side of the home or building. Out of the sun, the unit will need less power to keep you cool.

(12) Make sure you use the correct size unit for your space
One of the top considerations on size of air conditioning unit is what area needs cooling and how many people will be using the space. This helps determine how much power you need. Check the space agains the BTU rating and the capacity of the unit. As a rule of thumb, you should expect to see a capacity of 2,000 BTUs for each 50 sq. meters of space.
(13) Question any deal that seems too good to be true
Look out for companies that are cutting corners just to get the work at a seemingly “deal” price. It is not cheap to get the best equipment and have it installed correctly by licensed and bonded technicians. Always get 2-3 bids, and ask what equipment they are using and get a detailed explanation of how the installation will be accomplished.

(14) No reason to run your A/C all day
You definitely want your installer to put in a programable thermostat. It can be set to keep your space cool at the times you need it to be cool. In addition to lower electrical bills, in many places, you can get rebates from the electrical utility for buying a programable thermostat.
