Customer feedback like this says it best! 🐜🕷

One of the biggest benefits of our Perimeter Pest Control Program is peace of mind. By creating a protective barrier around your home, we help keep common pests where they belong—outside.

Thank you, Michael, for trusting Northern Turf Management and for taking the time to share your experience. We're proud to help homeowners enjoy a more comfortable, pest-free property all season long.

🌱 Another beautiful day to be out helping lawns thrive across Northern Maine!

Healthy, green turf doesn’t happen by accident—it takes the right products, proper timing, and consistent care throughout the season. Our team is hard at work delivering professional applications that help strengthen roots, improve color, and keep lawns looking their best all summer long.

If your lawn is already turning heads, keep up the great work. If it needs a little help, there's still plenty of season ahead to make a difference.

🪲 Did you know? Some of the most damaging lawn pests spend most of their lives hidden underground.

White grubs are the immature stage of beetles like Japanese beetles and European chafers. After eggs hatch in the lawn, the grubs feed on grass roots beneath the surface. Because the damage happens underground, many homeowners don't realize there's a problem until brown patches begin appearing.

Common signs of grub activity include:
✔️ Brown or thinning areas that don't respond to watering
✔️ Turf that feels spongy underfoot
✔️ Grass that lifts easily from the soil
✔️ Increased digging from skunks, raccoons, or birds searching for food

One important thing to know: by the time grub damage is visible, much of the feeding has already occurred. That's why preventative control is generally the most effective approach for protecting lawns from future infestations.

If your lawn has experienced grub damage before, now is a great time to reach out to our team as we head into summer.

Spring sunshine can make it feel like lawn season is fully underway — but in Maine, it’s soil temperature that really determines when your lawn starts actively growing. 🌱

Our latest blog explains why warm air doesn’t always mean your grass is ready, how soil temperatures impact root activity and nutrient uptake, and why timing matters for lawn treatments in Northern Maine.

If your lawn still looks a little behind, don’t panic — this is completely normal for our region.

Read the full blog below!

Learn why soil temperature—not air temperature—controls lawn growth in Maine and how it impacts fertilization, w**d control, and spring green-up.

The black flies may get the headlines in Northern Maine this time of year… but mosquitoes won’t be far behind. 🦟

With warmer temperatures and spring rain, mosquito activity will ramp up quickly over the next few weeks. Now’s the time to stay ahead of the bites before populations explode heading into summer.

A few ways to help reduce mosquito activity around your property:
• Empty standing water from buckets, toys, gutters, and flower pots
• Keep grass and vegetation trimmed
• Reduce damp, shaded resting areas around the yard

The earlier you prepare, the more comfortable your outdoor season can be. ☀️
