Cool season grasses like tall fescue, the most common lawn in this area, do the bulk of their root growth in the six to eight weeks before the first hard frost. ✅ Keep it tall. Set your blade to 3–4 inches. Taller grass means deeper roots and fewer w**ds sneaking in.

✅ Sharpen your blade. A sharp blade gives a clean cut. A dull one tears the grass and leaves it looking rough. Sharpen once a month and you'll notice the difference.

✅ Mow often. Once a week keeps things manageable — and your lawn will thank you for it.
