Haunted on the Hill, Thursday

Doors open at 2 today.

The Haunted on the Hill pop-up sale runs three days at Simple Treasures: today 2 to 6, Friday 10 to 8, Saturday 10 to 4.

The floor is full of pieces from recent cleanouts. Furniture, lamps, art and frames, glassware, kitchenware, china, and the fall and Halloween decorations we pulled out for the weekend. Everything is priced.

We're at 697 19th St in Sherman Hill. If you have a question before you come, call or message.

Some of our work starts with a phone call from a banker or an attorney.

Trust departments. Attorneys handling estates and probate. Real estate agents with a listing that can't show yet. Property managers with a unit to turn. Families who live out of state.

They hand us a name and a property, and we take it from there. Free walkthrough and written estimate. One point of contact from start to finish. We sort what's there, sell what has value, donate and recycle what we can, haul the rest, and hand the keys back clean.

We're BBB accredited with an A+ rating, and we take credit cards, cash, check, and Venmo.

If you've got a client who needs a property emptied, call or text me directly at 515-238-8509, or send them to simplecleanout.com. I'll take it from there.

Here's what actually happens when you hand us a house.

We start with a free walkthrough and a detailed quote. No obligation, no hidden fees.

Then we sort what's there. Pieces with value go to our estate sales or our Simple Treasures store in Sherman Hill. What we can donate, we donate. What we can recycle, we recycle. The rest gets hauled away.

Furniture, appliances, and all the general clutter that comes with a full house. We handle it, and we leave the property broom clean.

We take credit cards, cash, check, and Venmo.

Call 515-238-8509 for a free estimate, or visit simplecleanout.com.

When it's your parents' house, the hard part isn't the hauling. It's the sorting.

Mom's moving to assisted living on the first of the month. The house has forty years in it. You've got two weekends and a brother in Denver.

Here's how we handle it. We walk through the house with you first, free, and give you a written quote. No obligation, no hidden fees.

Then we sort. What the family keeps gets set aside. What has value goes to our estate sales or our Simple Treasures store in Sherman Hill. What we can donate, we donate. What we can recycle, we recycle. The rest gets hauled away, and we leave the house broom clean.

You make the decisions. We do the work. Call 515-238-8509 or visit simplecleanout.com to set up the walkthrough.

When a home changes hands, a lifetime of belongings has to go somewhere. For most of it, that means donation, recycling, or the truck. But every house has a few things that meant something to someone.

Those pieces are why we opened Simple Treasures in Sherman Hill.

I put the whole story into words for the Greater Des Moines Partnership. It's about the cleanout side, the shop, and how the two fit together. Link in the comments.

Thanks to the Partnership for the space to tell it.
