Once the animals were out, we treated the attic with a deodorizer. The idea is to get them out and make sure they stay out.

Squirrels, raccoons, and other critters can really make a mess of attic insulation. They tear it up, leave droppings behind, and make it harder for the insulation to do its job.
Once we've gotten the animals out, we can clean out the damaged insulation and put down fresh insulation to get the attic back in good shape.

Good thing we caught him before he made too much of a mess. Squirrels can tear up insulation pretty quickly, but we can take care of the removal and any cleanup that's needed.

We see plenty of attics with droppings, torn-up insulation, nesting material, and other mess after an animal’s been living up there. With colder weather on the way, it’s worth knowing what shape your insulation is actually in.
